Psalm 51:10

Welcome friends.  This may be my last post for the day...it all depends on what I get done for the rest of the night.

I participated in the Word Art Wednesday challenges quite a bit last year.  I really slacked off on challenges the latter part of last year and I wanted to get back in to doing them.  I love the Scripture Art that you can receive free every week.

I love purples, so I decided since I have been on a pick kick that I would shift gears and use some purple.  I used quite a few different shades of purple for this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope I haven't made your eyes bleed with all these posts. :)  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.  You can just leave a comment for me even if you don't have a question.  I love reading them.  Have a wonderful weekend and God bless y'all.

Word Art Wednesday

Hello there friends.  Today I have a card that I made for the Word Art Wednesday challenge.  This week, as always, the challenge is an Anything Goes, but you have the option of using the Scripture verse they picked.  This week it's Isaiah 41:13.

I decided to go for a black and white color scheme.  There is something so classy about those two colors together.  I pulled two papers from my stash (DCWV) in black and white for this card.  I printed out the word art fairly large because I wanted the Scripture to take precedence.  I wrapped a piece of black and white plaid ribbon around the bottom of the focal panel, matted it onto a piece of black Recollections card stock and adhered it to the card.  I added some crystal leaves, two white flowers, one black flower and a stick pin.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope y'all enjoyed this card.  Can't wait to see ya again.  God bless!

This is another word art designed by Word Art Wednesday.  I used the weekly sketch from MFT to design the card.   The card base is Recollections.  The DP is DCWV.  I inked the edges of all the elements with DI Vintage Photo.  I added a flower from AC Moore to finish off this CAS card.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to make this card.   I made the sentiment into a tag and slid it into the "holder".  The card base is Recollections Pink.  The DP is DCWV and Recollections All Seasons. I added some pearls from Queen and Co to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping in tonight.  I hope y'all have a great evening.  God Bless y'all.

Indian Woman

Hi there.  Grab a seat..I have a story.

Have any of you ever had the desire to meet your ancestors who have gone on before you?  I do.  Have them all the time.  My family has alot of Native American in it.  I have always been fascinated with American Indians.  The stories of the braves who stole their wives from white villages, the ability to take a deer hide and made a beautiful wedding dress, the long, thick, rich black hair.  But, there are the horror stories too..Battle of Bull Run, Chief Sitting Bull, The Trail of Tears..too many tears over the years.   I always envisioned that I would marry a Native American brave, but I got an Italian instead..go figure.

The card I made today uses an image of a Native American woman in a deer skin dress painting pottery.  This image is from QKR Stampede.

I used colored pencils and OMS to add life to this image.  Her long black hair is done up in a bun to keep it out of paint.  Her deer skin clothing is warm so it must be a winter portrait.  Even though you can't see her face, I feel like she is really concentrating on her work.

I chose the DPs because they remind me of the colors and designs of the Native American wares.  Not only the blankets, but the bags, clothes, hand made baskets and pottery.  The DP is American Crafts.  I put this on a card base made from SU Chocolate Chip.  I put the sentiment (Word Art Wednesday) at an angle so that the image would not be covered.  I didn't think it needed alot of bling.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If y'all have Native American in your family, I would love to hear about it in a comment.  Thanks so much..God bless y'all.

Psalm 127:3

Hi there..:)  So glad to see ya.  Pull up a chair, grab your coffee and let's see what we have for today.

This beautiful little momma is from The Paper Shelter and is called Light of My Life.  I colored her with colored pencils and OMS.  I chose four different patterns of paper from The Paper Studio Love You collection that I got on sale after Valentine's Day for $1.99.  Don't ya just love a good bargain?  I matted each piece of DP onto a pink panel.  The image and sentiment are matted on Chocolate Chip card stock from SU.  The card base is from Colobok.  I made the flower using a Paper Studio Brad and Pink Box Pleated Ribbon.  It was very easy and I stole the idea from a YouTube video.  Adding three pink pearls from Queen and Co finished it off.

I hope you like this little card.  I appreciate y'all stoppin' in.  God bless y'all.

Happy Wednesday.  If you are like me, you are awaiting the weekend.  I have been sick all week and am so ready to be feeling better.  I did feel well enough today to craft a little, so here ya go...

This little lady was designed by Just Some Lines and is called Gabby's Bike.  I colored her with colored pencils and OMS and then chalked the background.  The sentiment is from Word Art Wednesday.  After coloring the image, I trimmed it down and rounded the corners.  I inked the edges of the image and sentiment with DI Vintage Photo.  Each has a Crumb Cake mat.  The DP is from DCWV and the card base is Old Olive from SU.  I added a bit of Sakura Glitter Gel pen to the butterflies and flower centers.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I pray y'all have a great day.  God bless.

White on White

Thanks for joining me for another card creation.  This one made me step outside my comfort zone and do something I don't usually do..white on white.  I love color and design so a plain card is hard for me.

To make this card I pulled out some white card stock and cut two panels.  I ran one through the Darice Butterfly Corner EF and the other through the Argyle EF.  I used my glitter gel pens to add some color to the butterflies.  I tied a piece of sheer white ribbon around the card front and added the sentiment from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique.  Quick, fast and sweet.  I like the way it turned out, but I don't think I'm ready to jump on the white band wagon just yet.

Thanks for stopping by this evening.  I truly appreciate it.  God bless y'all.

Hey Chick

Happy Easter/Resurrection Day.  I hope y'all have had a wonderful day.  We had a great day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

I have a few cards for y'all today.  I am going to post them all in this one post so as I can get done posting and go watch the final installment of The Bible on the History Channel.  If you haven't been watching, you've missed a great series.

My first card uses a very cute image from Digi Darla.  I used my BIC Markers to color in this sweetie..

After printing out and coloring the image, I used my nestabilities to cut out the image and the scalloped mat.  I also cut a sentiment circle and mat.  I used Turquoise card stock from Recollections as my base and the mats.  The DP is from DCWV and I used the flowered DP to make the three roses uses my Sizzix rose die.  I also used a small 5 petal flower punch from EK Success for the base of the roses.  I added some Turquoise polka dot ribbon from my stash as an accent.  I hand wrote the sentiment.  I adhered my image using pop dots.

Challenges:

Southern Girls--For the Kids
Daring Cardmakers--Springing into Spring
Simply Create Too--#34 Animals
Pink Gem--#73 Make It Cute

My 2nd card uses an image from Avadare and I also colored it with BIC Markers.  I printed out the image on Neenah Super Smooth White card stock.

I used the sentiment from Word Art Wednesday for this week.  I began this card with a 6" square Purple base from Colorbok.  I used Old Olive (SU) as my mats.  The DP is DCWV.  I followed a sketch from Friday Sketch Challenge to complete this card.  For the finishing touch, I used some circle bling from Jolee's.

Challenges:
Word Art Wednesday--Isaiah 55:8
Friday's Sketch--#40

Card #3 uses the progressive freebie image from Imagine That.  It was very easy to add color to this one because it focuses on the sentiment not the images.

I used my BIC Markers to color in the flowers and the butterfly.  I also used a Glitter gel pen to highlight the swirls.  This is a 5x7" card in order to fit all the elements.   I used a premade base for the card.  I used Recollections Yellow as my mats for the DP which is from DCWV.  I added some Orange Gems from Queen and Co to add some bling.

Psalm 19:14

The next card we have for tonight uses another Scripture.  This one is a freebie word art from Word Art Wednesday.  This challenge blog focuses on Scripture and uplifting quotes.  Each week we get a new one to use.

I also used a sketch for this card.  Freshly Made Sketches creates new sketches for us to use each week.

I began by making a hot pink card base (Colorbok) and adding a beautiful flower print paper from ATD.  The center panel uses a technique that I learned a while ago.  Shaving cream and either reinkers or alcohol inks.  Swirl them together and place a piece of glossy card stock down on it.  Pick it up, let it set for a few minutes then wipe off the extra shaving cream and you have a beautiful marbled background.

I printed off the sentiment on GP card stock and matted it on Olive (SU) card stock.  I added some vine rub ons, used pop dots for the sentiment and added two paper flowers from my stash.  A few gems from Queen and Co finished it off.

Thanks for stopping in again.  I so appreciate it.  God bless y'all.

Psalm 73:26

Happy Monday everyone.  Today I have another butterfly card for y'all.  This one uses an image given to us by Word Art Wednesday.

I began this card with a Hot Pink card base from Recollections.  It measures 5.5"x5.5".  The background papers are from SEI Chocolat collection.  I printed off the sentiment onto GP White card stock and inked it with DI Vintage Photo.  I made a mat for it out of Light Pink from Recollections.

I made the butterflies using a Studio G stamp and Perfect Pearls.  I cut them out, popped them up and added some pearls from Queen and Co.

The pink strip of card stock at the top is stamped with a Studio G stamp with Martha Stewart Pink ink.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping in today and I pray y'all have a great night.  God bless.

1 John 4:7

Good Morning Friends.  It's the weekend.  YIPPEE!!  I haven't felt too good the past couple of days.  I don't know if I had a stomach bug or what, but man..  I did manage to get a few cards made.

This card is using a sentiment from Word Art Wednesday as the focal image.

I used an oval die from Nestabilities to cut out the image and then inked it with Tattered Rose DI.  I used a sketch from the Outlawz to make this card on a SU Basic Black card base.  The DPs are from DCWV.  I added some flower gems, a pink swirl and three square gems as my embellies.  It was a quick, easy card.

Thank you for looking at my blog today.  May God bless y'all.
