MOOVELOUS Monday with Melonheadz Friends

Welcome to my blog.  I so appreciate y'all joining me today.

Our challenge at Melonheadz Friends is "Animals".  Nikki has tons and tons of sets with animals, but my favorite has to be "Barnyard Babies".  It's so dang cute.

I made a collage of sorts with three of the barnyard babies and the farmer girl and then printed it out onto white card stock.  I cut around the images and used a Black Sharpie to work around the edges. I didn't want any white edge to show on the image.  The sentiment is from the "Barnyard Babies" collection and I matted it onto a piece of Red Recollections card stock.  The patterned paper is American Crafts.  I chose five buttons and tied some jute cord into the holes and used glue dots to attach them.  The card base is Recollections Red.

I had fun with this challenge this week and I hope y'all will too.  Please feel free to enter a card into this week's challenge.  God bless y'all.

Marvelous Monday with Digi Darla

Thanks for joining me again for another challenge at Digi Darla.  I hope y'all had a great weekend.  The wedding was beautiful and the reception was great.  I wish my BIL John and my new SIL Kelly years of happiness together.

So, this week, our challenge is Anything Goes with Harvest Moon twist.  You don't have to include the twist, but it's a bit more of a challenge.  I used 2 Rowboats to make my card this week.

I used my colored pencils and OMS on this one.  I tried to make the moon shadow white, but it just didn't  work out so I  used some yellows and oranges. I know it looks more like a sunset, but it is a moon.  I matted the image onto Chocolate Brown card stock from Recollection and used a similar brown from Colorbok for the card base.  I rounded all the corners and used DI Vintage Photo to ink the image and sentiment, which if from a Gina K set.  The patterned papers are from DCWV Boyhood collection.  I added five blue liquid dots for some variety.  I didn't  want this too blingy so the liquid dots worked great.  I cut the end of the sentiment into a banner and attached it to the bottom.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope y'all will decided to enter a card into the Digi Darla challenge this week. God bless ya'll.

Congratulations John and Kelly

Hello there friends.  Today I have a card for y'all that I haven't been able to post until today.  I made this card for my BIL and his new bride, but I couldn't put it online until after the wedding because I have my blog posts linked with FB and they would have been able to see it.

I tried to come as close to the colors of the wedding as possible.  I used a BIC marker to color in the ribbons on the dress and the roses.  The exact colors of the wedding party are White and Sangria, but I didn't have a Sangria marker, but I did have a Berry colored one.

I used a sweet Precious Moments image that I found online to make this card.  I colored in the image with my BICs.  The sentiment is a Scripture from 1 Corinthians 13 which is called the "Love" Chapter.  I trimmed down both images and matted them onto a dark red cardstock.  The patterned papers are all DCWV and come from a wedding collection.  I added some dark red pearls for interest.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful.  My new SIL had the most beautiful dress.  She looked like an angel as she walked down the aisle.  My husband was the best man and the entire bridal party was dressed to the nines.

Here's a picture of the happy couple: Mr.and Mrs. John and Kelly Thubbron.

And this is my gorgeous husband, Tim.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great rest of your day.  God bless!

Sweet Saturdays with Paper A La Mode

Hello my friends.  I hope y'all have been enjoying your weekend.  My Saturday was very full and busy, but more on that later.

This week at,  The Outlawz Paper A La Mode, our challenge is Carousels.  Your job is to create a card using an item from a carousel.  I love the carousel.  It's one of the only rides at an amusement park that I can still ride without getting extremely sick.  I always loved roller coasters as a young person, but they don't love me anymore.

Here's the card that I created:

I used a Beccy Muir image to create this card.  It is a Christmas Carousel Horse.  I colored it with my colored pencils and OMS.  The papers are MME and the card stock is Olive Green by Colorbok.  I also added a die cut mat in Gold and some sheer off white ribbon.

I hope that y'all will think about joining us for this great challenge.  Thank you so much for stopping by to view my latest card.

God bless y'all.

QKR Stampede Fridays

It's Friday!!  I'm so glad.  Time to get my weekend on.  Not that I do alot..LOL.

Today over at QKR Stampede our challenge is "Butterflies and Bow".  Since I love butterflies this was a great challenge for me.

I don't know how many of you know someone with LUPUS, but it's a devastating autoimmune disease.  There are two different strains of it and both are very painful.  My grandmother, Dorothy, God rest her soul, had LUPUS for years before they diagnosed her.  She thought she was just a lazy housewife.  She couldn't understand why she was so tired all the time.  When they finally were able to diagnose her, all her symptoms made sense.  My uncle and aunt have it also.  The butterfly is the "mascot" for LUPUS, so my family is partial to butterflies.  Everytime I see one, I think of my Grandmother.  I am checked twice a year for the markers and even though I have 8 of the 15 markers, my tests have yet to show up positive.  But, just as with Fibro, Thyroid Disease and Celiacs, you have to be in the midst of a flare up in order for your tests to come back positive.

So, now that y'all have had your medical lesson for today, let's move on to the card.

I went a bit whimsical with this card.  I apologize for the shadow in the bottom right hand corner.  I think my hand got in the way.  After printing out the images, I colored them with pencils and OMS.  I cut all four images out and added some Sakura Glitter gel pen to them.  I used an oval die cut that a friend of mine sent me (Thanks Jan!) as the mat behind the bush image.  I used pop dots for the "butterflies".  The image is actually called Moths, but I thought they made beautiful butterflies.  The sentiment is from Gina K.  I used a patterned paper from The Paper Studio and two from DCWV.  The card base is an Olive Green and is from Colorbok.  I used the same green for the sentiment mat.  I tied yellow ribbon around the top block of paper and tied a bow.  Yellow was a favorite color of my Grandma's.

I hope to see some of y'all enter a card into the challenge at QKR Stampede this week.  Thanks for stopping by today and God bless y'all.

Who are You Supposed to Be?

Hello my friends.  I hope everyone is enjoying their week.  Only one more day til the weekend.  Our weekend is full again.  My BIL is getting married on Saturday and my hubby is the Best Man, so we not only have the wedding on Saturday, we have the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner tomorrow.  My husband still hasn't written his speech.  He better get going.

Today's card is a practice run for the whole month of October.  Many of you have already seen the badge and list of blogs on the right side of my blog for the Halloween Blog Hop for Smeared and Smudged.  I don't make alot of "dark" cards so I thought I would practice one for Haunted Design House's challenge this week.  The challenge is to choose and image that represents what you would be for Halloween if you had the right body, right hair, right clothes, etc.  Well, if I had all those things, I would definitely be a Kenny K image.  LOL.  Those are some sexy chicks.  So, for my card I choose  "Hella Enchanted" and here she is:

I colored her with colored pencils and OMS then trimmed down the image.  I inked it heavily with DI Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot inks.  I matted her on Black card stock from Recollections and added four antique brass brads.  I used three different patterned papers (Recollections, Theresa Collins and DCWV) to create the background.  All of them are matted on Hearthrob Red card stock from The Paper Studio.  The card base is Black Recollections and is 6"x6".  I added three black roses from Michael's and two black card stock flourishes as my embellishments. I wonder how much candy I could get if I dressed like this??  LOL.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to.  Have a wonderful evening and God bless y'all.

Magnolias at Beccy's Place

Hello there my friends.  Welcome back to my blog.  I appreciate the visit. We are showcasing the Magnolias from Beccy Muir's Spring Seeds set.  Last week we showcased the Tulips from the set.

I'm not exactly sure what color magnolias are supposed to be, but I thought pink was a good choice.  I colored this one with colored pencils and OMS.  I fussy cut around the image and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo before adhering it to the card with pop dots.  The patterned papers are all from DCWV and the card stock is Recollections.  I added some gems from Queen and Co. to finish off the card.

I truly appreciate y'all stopping by.  Stay tuned next Monday for my last DT Example for Beccy's Place. Have a great day and God bless.

Digi Darla's Monday Copy Cat Challenge

Happy Monday friends.  Today begins a new challenge over at Digi Darla's.  Our challenge this week is going to be a monthly occurrence.  It's our "Copy Cat" Challenge.  Everyone who enters will receive the same image to work with.  This week it is "Ye Olde Sailing Ship"

All you have to do to enter this week is make a project using this image.  Here's what I designed:

I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS.  I then added some white paint, which I dry brushed onto the waves.  I chalked the sky and added a bit of dark blue ink to make the horizon line.  I used Labels 10 Nestabilities to die cut the image and mat.  I also used the same set to die cut the sentiment and mat.  I offset the mats from the images for interest.  The stamped map uses a Stamp Man Nautical image and is stamped with Memento Espresso Ink.  I then crinkled and wrinkled and wadded up the image, inked it heavily with Memento Vintage Photo and took a lighter to some of the edges.   The patterned papers are all from DCWV and I found these three antique buttons in my stash.  I love the way this card turned out.  I think out of all the cards I have made since 2010, this has to be my favorite.

I hope to see your copy cat project at Digi Darla this week. Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  God bless y'all.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
ABC Challenges--#46 Tic Tac Toe
Love to Create--#84 Color Inspiration
Oldie but a Goodie--Dies and Punches
Penny's Challenges--#145  Two or more patterned papers

New Look

Hey guys.  I thought I would post a picture of my new look from yesterday.  Yep, it hurts.  You can see where I had my lanyard with my name tag on it.  Pretty ain't it?  LOL  You can see what is left of my neck surgery scar too.  It's been almost a year (Dec. 9th) since my surgery and it's pretty much gone.

My arms are burnt and the back of my shoulders are too.  Hopefully it will go away in  a few days and I will be back to normal.  Well.. yeah.

Saturday's at Paper A La Mode

Hello there y'all.  Thanks for stopping by.  I am in a bit of pain today.  If you saw my post yesterday, you know that I took my daughter to Roba's Farm.  Well, it was a beautiful day.  Not too hot, nice breeze blowing..yeah well..that's so deceptive.  I look like a burnt chip.  Yep, that's right.  I got some serious sunburn on my face, arms and chest.  I didn't even know I was burning.  I'm feeling it today.  But, even with the pain today, we had a fantastic time yesterday, so it was worth it.

Today starts the new challenge over at Paper A La Mode.  Debbie has come up with a doozie of a challenge.  Use something old that you haven't used before.  We all have something hiding in the recesses of our crafting rooms that we bought years ago thinking it would make a great project.  But, it got pushed to the back burner and you never got around to using it.  Well, pull it out for this challenge.

I found a set of K & CO Birthday chipboard stickers in one of the crates that I store my stuff in.  I pulled them out and thought, "Hey, that would make a cute card".  So, I got to work...

I used Recollections Pink card stock for the base and a piece of polka dot paper from my scrap stash to make the beginning of the card.  I pulled these two chipboard stickers and the candle border strip (from a set of stickers from the Dollar Tree) out to use.  I figured being chip board stickers I didn't need to use pop dots on them.

So, that's it.  Very simple, very easy and very quick.  I think it took me 5 minutes to make this cute card.  The inside has more of the polka dot paper, a white journaling spot and another sticker from the Dollar Tree pack that says "May all your wishes come true."

Thanks for joining me today and I hope to see some of your creations on Paper A La Mode this week.  Have a great day and God bless y'all.

Queen Kat Designs Friday Inspiration

Thanks for stopping by today folks.  It's been a while since I have posted for the Queen.  I finally have a card made for today and can't wait for y'all to see it...so here we go.

Sorry for the glare from the Glitter pens.  It doesn't  photograph very well.  This image is called Deliver Me by Nora Blansett.  I'm not sure if she is a fairy, an imp or just a beautiful lady, but I love her.  I colored the whole image with Sakura Glitter pens and used a green BIC marker for the leaves.  She is trimmed down and matted on Mint Green card stock from Colorbok.  The patterned paper has a peacock feather on it and is also from Colorbok.  I added three Recollections flowers that have a touch of glitter to them to the left side of the card to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  If you haven't already, check out Queen Kat's Blog and we also have a Facebook page you can check out.  Have a wonderful day and God Bless!

QKR Stampede Friday

Happy Friday all.  Today I am taking Kierstynne to Roba's Farm for her Back to School Picnic.  We love Roba's.  They have a petting zoo where you can feed the animals.  They give each person an ice cream cone filled with pellets for the animals when you go in and the animals enjoy them.  But, the goats and llamas especially like the ice cream cone.  There is a hay ride, a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin, lots of wooden "toy" for the kids to play on, a duck pond with ducks that will chase you for food, and pig races.  Those are a riot.  Some of the cutest little piggies and they all have celebrities names, like Jessica Hamson, Brad Pigsley, etc.  I love the pig races.  Then, the kids who home school with PAVCS get to spend time together, the parents get to mingle and it's such a great time.  When we get ready to leave, I use my coupon for 6 free apple cider donuts and buy a bag of kettle corn to take home.  My favorite part..lol

Now on to the fun stuff that you stopped by for.  This week at QKR Stampede, our challenge is "Flying High".  That translates to: Using balloons on your card.  I chose two digis from QKR to work with today.  Digi #13806 the Wizard Balloon Holder and Digi #11808 the Dragon Balloon.  The cool thing about the balloon holders is that all of their hands are curled like they are holding something, like a balloon.  You can find the entire collection of balloon holders HERE.

I printed out the images onto GP White card stock and colored them with my colored pencils.  I added some glitter gel pen to the wizard's stars and dots on his robe and the dragon's spots. I cut them out before adding them to the card.  I did use pop dots for the dragon balloon.  I used a piece of baker's twine for the string on the balloon.  The patterned paper is DCWV's Once Upon a Time collection.  I loved the purple and green together.  I have this office stamp that works great for birthday or anniversary cards because it has the months of the year going around the circle and lines so that you can write a message.  I added some Sakura gel pen to the outside circle and the message.

I sure hope y'all will join us this week at QKR Stampede.  The prize this week?  2 QKR images.  If you enter and use one of our images, you will get to pick 5 images.  And let me tell ya, there are some great images in the store.  I especially love the turtles!

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a great day.  God bless y'all.

Hey, Little Birdie

Hello there friends and fellow crafters.  Do you guys remember the Peanuts movie that comes out at Thanksgiving?  I think it's called a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.  There is a song in the movie called Little Birdie.  That song, for some odd reason, has been running through my head today, hence the title of this post.  I have some random things run through my mind on a regular basis.

Anyway.  Moving on.  This week at Robyn's Fetish, the challenge is #176- Use Red, Blue and Yellow.  I found this cute little birdie on my computer and it's a Robyn's image.

Isn't that a cute bird?  I printed of the image on GP White card stock and used colored pencils on it.  I chalked around the image to make the sky.  I trimmed it down and matted it on a piece of dark blue card stock that I found in my scrap stash.  All three pieces of patterned papers came from my scrap stash too.  I matted the patterned papers onto Recollections Red card stock.  The card base is the same Recollections Red.  I chose a sentiment from Gina K's Spring collection and used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp it.  I trimmed the sentiment down and used a small piece of Recollection Red to mat it.  I attached the sentiment with a pop dot.

I finally got a challenge done.  I am ahead a bit on my DT inspiration cards, so I did this one last night.

I truly appreciate y'all stopping by today.  Have a great night and God bless y'all.

The Crafter's Cafe with Fred, She Said

Guess what day it is?  Yep, that's right.  It's HHUUUMMPPP DDDAAAYYY!  Woot! Woot!  I absolutely love that commercial.  That camel trips me out.

So, that being said, welcome to another Crafter's Cafe challenge.  This week, we are using Fred, She Said images to create something with "Flowers".  I chose Daisies and Ladybugs.

I fell in love with this set when I saw it.  It's so cute.  I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS.  I then fussy cut around the daisies and added pop dots to them.  (I printed out two copies of the daisy chain.) I also cut out the little ladybug that I placed on the sentiment.  I used black card stock from Recollections as my base and mats.  The DP's are all from my stash.  I inked the edges of the image and sentiment with DI Vintage Photo.

I sure hope to see some of you at Crafter's Cafe this week with a Flower entry.  The prize? Fred, She Said images.  It's worth it to enter!

Hope y'all have a great day!  Thanks for stopping in for a visit.  God bless!

Monochromatic with Paper Ala Mode

Hello there friends.  I am a bit late posting this card.  I should have had it posted on Saturday.  Late again..lol

Our challenge this week at Paper Ala Mode at The Outlawz is "Monochromatic".  Just pick a color and use varying shades of it.  I chose to use shades of Black for my card, which features a Kenny K image.

I started out coloring this beautiful lady with colored pencils and just had to add some sparkle to her.  I used my Sakura Glitter Gel pens to add some highlights.  I also used a white gel pen to add some highlights to her hair.  All of the papers are from DCWV.  I used two card stocks from SU for the card base and mats: Basic Black and Gray.  The flower with the feathers came from Hobby Lobby in the Bridal section.  If you haven't ever checked out that section of a craft store, you really should.  They have some great deals and products.  I had those spider webs and spiders in my stash from years ago.  They were actually Halloween confetti decorations that I found on clearance at the Dollar General.  You never know what you might find when you search off the wall places for card making and scrapbooking products.

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I hope y'all enjoyed your visit.  Have a great night.  God bless.

Hello there.  Thanks for stopping in today.  I have a card for y'all to showcase Beccy's new set: Spring Set.  Beccy has designed some of the most beautiful tulips for this set.

Here is a preview of the entire set:

Beautiful, right?   To purchase this set or some of the other beautiful sets Beccy has designed, please visit Beccy's Place and click on the cute bear picture in the left hand corner to be taken to her store.

Thanks again for stopping in today.  I only have a couple more post for my DT assignment with Beccy's Place and then my time is over.  It is very sad for me because I have loved working with such a talented team.  Stay tuned for the last few cards for Beccy's Place.

God bless y'all.

It's Monday!

Good morning friends.  I hope y'all enjoyed your weekend.  I did.  Now it's time to get back to the grind.

Today starts our new challenge at Digi Darla.  This week are  "Hopping, Skipping and Jumping" into our challenge.  We are asking you to use images that show someone or something hopping, skipping or jumping.

For my card, I used a cute little girl jumping for joy.

I colored this cute little one with Spectrum Noir pens and did the background with chalk.  I then die cut the image and mat with Spellbinders.  I used two DPs from The Paper Studio and cut out that little kite from a  piece of DP that I had laying around.  I added some yellow ribbon for the kite tail.  The sentiment was taken from one of my favorite shows, "Duck Dynasty".  I love that show..it's the redneck coming out in me.  Uncle Si is hilarious and "Happy Happy" is his trademark saying.  This little girl looks totally happy happy.

Thanks so much for visiting me today.  I hope you will think about joining us at Digi Darla this week.  God bless y'all.

Back to School with QKR Stampede

Woot!  Woot!  It's Friday!  Thank goodness.  It's been a long week for me.  Today I am taking my daughter to her first school outing for the year.  It's a back to school picnic at one of our local parks.  People tend to think that homeschool students aren't socialized enough.  Boy, do I have news for you.  We have tons of outings for the students to get together and spend time socializing.  Homeschool now a days is nothing like it used to be.  It has changed so much.  So, now I will get off my soap box about homeschooling and get to this week's challenge.

This week at QKR is "Back to School".  I know some kids have been back in school for about a month now, but it's still earlier enough to do this challenge.  I chose to use a quirky image to make my card.

This is a smaller card than what I usually make, it's only 4x4.  The image is called pulling hair.  Some days, Kierstynne looks like this when it's time for school to start.  I used papers from The Paper Studio and colored the image with colored pencils.  The black card stock is recollections.  I wrote the sentiment by hand.

I have to admit that it's not one of my better cards, but it's funny.  I hope to see some of you at QKR this week to  enter a card into the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope y'all enjoy your weekend.  God bless y'all.

Mondays with Digi Darla and Beccy Muir

Good Morning.  Yep, I'm a day late again.  It's Tuesday and I am posting yesterday's cards.

The first one I have for y'all is for this week's Digi Darla challenge.  Our challenge this week is Anything Goes with a Back to School twist.  You only have to do the twist part if you want to.  I used the image "Love to Study" to create my card.

I used my colored pencils to add some life to this cute little girl.  I love to read, so I thought this was a great image for me.  Right now I am addicted to Janet Evanovich's series about Stephanie Plum.  She's a bounty hunter, but she isn't very good at it.  You will laugh out loud while reading these books.  So far there are 20 numbered books in the series with some "in between the numbers" books.  If you are a reader and need a good series, this is it.

I used papers from the Paper Studio and Recollection card stock to create my card.  The sentiment is printed from my Word program.

I hope to see some of your creations entered into our challenge this week.

My next card is for Beccy's Place.  Beccy has created a new set called "Geranium Set".  It has some beautiful images included in the set.

I used Spectrum Noir pens to color in this Geranium.  As you can probably tell, I am not a flower person, so I'm not sure exactly what color these are supposed to be, but I like the blue.  I used three papers from my stash to create the card.  The card base is Colorbok.  I added a bit of yellow ribbon for interest and rounded all the corners.  Adding a few chocolate pearls finished up this card.  Check out Beccy's store for this new set and some other absolutely beautiful sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all enjoyed your visit.  Have a great day and God bless.

Dude! That's Funny

Good Morning Friends.  I hope y'all are having a great week.  I'm a little fitzbahed this week.  I forgot to post my card for The Crafter's Cafe this week.  It should have been us on Wednesday.  So, without further ado...here's my card for this week's challenge..

Our challenge this week at Crafter's Cafe is "Dude, That's Funny".  The DT is using Dr. Digi images this week.  I chose Duncan Disorderly.  I thought he was just too funny. I can just see my brother and my BIL like this in a few years.

I started by printing off the image onto Neenah card stock and coloring with my colored pencils and OMS.  I fussy cut Duncan out with my Cutterbee scissors.  All of the DPs are from DCWV Rock Star pad.  I used a Black, Recollections card stock base.  After putting the card together, I added Duncan with pop dots.  The sentiment I printed off from my Word program.

I hope y'all enjoyed a good laugh at Duncan's expense today.  I also hope to see some funny cards that y'all create entered at TCCB this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your Thursday.  One day closer to the weekend.  Yippee!!  God bless y'all.
