Pink and Purple Birthday Card

Hello friends.  Happy Monday.  It's beginning to snow again here.  Man, I'm so ready for some tropical weather..maybe the Bahamas or at this point Mexico.

Today's card uses lots of pinks and purples.  It's pretty blinged up too.

This is Pip and she's from

I went to Walmart about two weeks ago and for some reason I went to the children's craft spot.  I found two boxes of gemstones for $4 each.  Each one has about 300 pieces in it.  There are lots of different sizes and even some different shaped ones. They aren't self adhesive, but a bit of Glossy Accents and you're done.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all had a great Monday.  God bless.

Hello friends.  Happy Sunday.  I hope y'all are having a great day.  It's very cold and windy here today.

Today's card is another Valentine's card.  I used an image from Robyn's Fetish to make my card.

For the first time ever, I think I took a photo that is actually straight.  I don't know why I have such a hard time getting them straight.  But I did good with this one. :)  Now to keep it up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great rest of your day.  God bless y'all.

Catch the Bug Sketch Challenge

Good Morning.  It's Sunday morning and I have a little card for y'all.  I hope y'all are enjoying your weekend.

This is what happens when you have a nine year old constantly chattering in your ear.  When I put this card together, she was showing me something on the internet and I wasn't paying full attention.  The image should actually be turned the other way so that the ladybug is upside down.  But, it works this way too.

Thanks so much for stopping in to see me today.  I hope y'all have a wonderful day.  God bless.

You Strike My Fancy

Howdy ho neighbors.  Do you guys remember Mr. Roger's Neighborhood?  I loved that show when I was a kid.  I wish they would show reruns of that and Captain Kangaroo.  Those were my two favorites when I was young.  Kierstynne would get a kick out of them.

Today's card follows the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm not too good at clean and simple cards.  I have noticed that most of the winners and the projects the DT makes are all CAS.  So, I thought I would give it a whirl.

I used a set of digi stamps from Sweet and Sassy to make this card.  It took me about 10 minutes to make this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have been able to spend lots of time in your craft rooms this week.  Have a wonderful day and God bless y'all.

If you have any questions, please leave me a comment. :)

From the Heart January Stamp of the Month Challenge

Whoot!  Whoot!  It's Friday.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have a few cards to post today, so stay tuned for more. :)

For this challenge, Faith has generously provided a freebie for everyone so that you can play along.  As long as you make a project for January, you will recieve February's image.  If you keep going, by the end of the year, you will have 12 of Faith's wonderful images.

Isn't this just the cutest little Valentine?  I used the Decoupage technique to make this by printing out the image three times and just cutting certain parts of the image and pop dotted them up.

Thanks so much for coming to see me today.  I hope y'all have a great weekend.  God bless.

Challenge #70 at QKR Stampede

Hi there.  Sorry for the lateness of this post.  I had it written down wrong on my list.  Yeah, I can be a dingbat.

Our first challenge of the new year  is "Snowflakes and Sparkles".  That leaves a lot open to interpretation.  The prize: 5 images from the store.

I used "Sledding Girl" and "Snowflakes" to create my card.
I think she is just the sweetest vintage image. When my daughter saw this card, she says to me, "Mom, they don't make sleds like that anymore.  I bet Grandma Joan had one of those."  Yes, Kierstynne, I bet she did.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great weekend.  God bless.

What a great deal.  Even if you aren't picked as the winner, you can still get a free set.

I used Cocoa Cup Ants to make my card.  I think they are so cute.  When you buy the set, you get both the colored and the outline images.  I used the colored one this time.

New Kid on the Block--Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge Blog

Good Morning, y'all.  It's a super cold Saturday here in NE PA.  5 degrees.  We ran out of heating oil so we stayed at my MIL's house last night so I'm a bit late posting this today.  Our oil is coming today, but our pipes froze last night.  It's so cold here in our house that you can see your breath.

This is my first post as a design team member for Open-minded Crafting Fun.  This is also our very first challenge ever.  We are a bi-weekly challenge blog and have some amazing sponsors lined up for this year.

Our first challenge this year is a "New Technique/New Tool" challenge.  I'm sure quite a few of y'all received some new things for Christmas and can't wait to try them out.  Well, here's your chance.

We have four sponsors for this challenge. Our first sponsor is A Day for Daisies and the prize  for winning this first challenge is  3 images of your choice.

Second, we have Crafty Sentiments Design with a prize of 3 digital images of your choice.

Next is Eureka Stamps with a prize of 5 images of your choice.

And finally, we have Milk Coffee with a prize of 5 digital images of your choice.

So, let's get on with it.  I used an image from Milk Coffee called "Madeline with Retro Outfit".  I tried a new technique using watercolor pencils to make a striped background on watercolor paper.

Recipe:
Stamp: Milk Coffee digital image
Sentiment: stickers from my stash and my computer
Coloring Medium: Crayola Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Sakura Glitter Pens
Cardstock: Colorbok, Recollections
Paper: The Paper Studio, watercolor paper
Embellishments: button from my stash
Tools: Fiskars Trimmer, ATG Gun, glue dots, Spellbinders Classic Circles and Scalloped Circles

I hope y'all will check out our new challenge blog and maybe even create with some of those new tools and products you received for Christmas.  Have a wonderful Saturday and stay warm. :)  God bless y'all.

Super Saturday with Paper A La Mode

Good morning, friends.  Today is Saturday and that means the start of a new challenge over at Paper A La Mode.  Last week's challenge brought in some beautiful cards.  Thank you to all the ladies who participated.

This week, our challenge is "Last Minute Christmas Cards".  We all need those, right.  So, of course, I waited until the last minute to make mine.  Like that is a shocker, right?

I want to apologize for the glare on the sentiment.  I tried four different times to photograph it without the glare, but it just didn't work.  The sentiment actually says, "Warm Christmas Wishes".  I found these cute little woodland, felt creatures at Hobby Lobby during their fall sale for $1.  There were two racoons and two foxes in the package and I just couldn't resist them.  I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I had to have them.  I decided they would make a cute Christmas card for my cousin who loves the woods and hunting. Not that he hunts fox and racoon, mind ya.

The background papers are from MME Christmas pack from last year.  I used a white Coordinations card stock for the base and the red strip is Recollections card stock.  I used Lacey Circles from Spellbinders to create the circle out of Green Recollections card stock.

It was a quick, last minute card, so it fits the challenge wonderfully.  I hope that maybe y'all will find your way to Paper A La Mode an show us what you can create at the last minute.  Have a wonderful Saturday and God bless.

QKR Stampede's Challenge: It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas

Hello my friends.  Welcome back to my blog.  I'm a bit late posting this.  I should have had it up yesterday.

Our new challenge for this week is : It's Beginning to Look alot Like Christmas.

I used "Christmas Cheer" to make this card.

I colored this little guy with my trusty Crayolas.  I fussy cut him out and adhered him to a hexagon cut from my new Spellbinder's Die set.  The patterned papers are from Colorbok's Hootenanny collection.  I printed the sentiment and matted it onto a piece of green card stock.  I know the candy cane looks black and white, but it's actually glittery red and white.

I hope to see you guys over at QKR Stampede this week with some great Christmas cards.  Have a great day and God bless y'all.

Stay tuned Sunday for the first posting of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared and Smudged.

Spectacular Saturday with Paper A La Mode

It's Saturday.  I got to sleep in today.  Yippee!!  I don't get to sleep in very often and boy, did I enjoy it.

Today starts a new challenge at Paper A La Mode.  Last week's challenge, "Snowflakes and Stars" brought in some beautiful cards.

This week's challenge is "Die Cuts/Punches"  and I used my Spellbinders Hexagon dies and an image from Beccy Muir.

I colored the birdhouse with my Crayolas and fussy cut it.  I used a K & Co paper for the hexagons.  I added a couple pieces of washi tape at the top because it just looked too plain.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

I hope to see your creations at Paper A La Mode for this week's challenge.  Thanks for stopping by today.  God bless ya!

A Friend Loves at All Times

I'm back again with another card for y'all.  This is the last one for now.  I promise.  Maybe later on tonight I might have another one or two or ten...lol

This cute little guy is from Meljens Digis.  And the sentiment is from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique. If you are looking for some wonderful Christian sentiments, check her out...HERE

When I was first beginning this card, I thought to myself..UH OH..you picked the wrong color scheme.  I didn't like it.  But, the more I looked at it and added the flowers in the corners, I began to like it more and more.   I used my Neenah card stock and love the way the bear turned out.  I also pulled out my  #1 favorite die..my rose die.  I am addicted to this die.  It makes my roses look so much better.

I started out with a white card base from HOTP.  I added a piece of mustard yellow card stock from Colorbok.  The DP is from Heidi Grace's One Fine Day pack.  I added some Glitter Gel Pen for some sparkle. The die cut leaves were a gift from my special friend, Jan who is Precious Kitty's Creations.  Thanks Jan.  I added some pearls to the center of the roses to finish them off.  I used my Nestabilities to cut out the sentiment and the circles.

Thanks again y'all for taking the time to see what I have created.  God bless y'all.

Digi Darla Challenge #48

It's Monday again, and guess what that means?  It's challenge day over on Digi Darla.  This week's challenge is to us  YOUR STYLE.  Whatever you think  your style is, we want to see it.  Is it Shabby Chic, Clean and Simple, Eclectic, or something else.  There are many different styles out there and each person's style is different and special.  One winner will received 5 Digi Darla images and any entry that uses a DD image will get entered into a SECOND drawing for 3 images, so you could possibly win 8 images.  Very cool right?

So, how would I describe my style?  I really have no idea.  I have a very eclectic style.  It all depends on what the card is for, who it's for, if it's a challenge, or my mood.  I create everything from CAS to way out in left field.  But, the one thing that I incorporate on almost all of my cards is my coloring pencils.  I love to do my images this way.  I am trying to get more practice in with my Spectrum Noir pens, but I feel way more comfortable with the colored pencils.

I used this cute little angel from DD to create this card.  I decided to make her in shades of purple.  I used three different shades of purple card stock and one DP.  I used my Nestabilities for the mat.  The background was run through my Cuttlebug with the Allegro Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is just a little bit of scripture.  I made the flower using the same shades of purple and sprayed them with Cork Glimmer Mist.  The large jeweled brad is from my stash.

I hope that you decide to join us over on Digi Darla for this week's challenge.  Click HERE to be directed to the blog so you can enter into the challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope y'all stay tuned to see what else I have in store.  God bless y'all.
