Hello friends. I wanted to share with y'all a very different Christmas card. I wanted something different for our family this year. Something that represents our family in a different light. I tried to come up with something that would reflect all three of our personalities. What did I come up you ask?
Yep, that's right..a card reminiscent of Duck Dynasty. All three of us absolutely love that show. Si is Kierstynne's favorite. I like Jase and Willy and Tim likes Phil. Of course, we all love Miss Kay.
I have to admit that I didn't come up with the tree idea. I watched a video on YouTube by Kristina Werner showing how she made fingerprint trees. I just took it a step farther and made it a camouflage tree and cut it out with pinking shears instead of doing it on a white card base. Kierstynne helped me with the inking. It took quite a while to get them all done. For the background, I ran pieces of brown Recollection card stock through my Cuttlebug using a Darice Wood Grained EF. I cut down some camouflage paper and added to the left side. I used pop dots on the tree and start. The sentiment is printed out from my Word Processing program. I didnt' want to add too many embellishments to it because even though us rednecks like bling, the Duck Dynasty crew is kinda plain.
I hope y'all get a kick out of this card as do the recipients of our card this Christmas. Have a wonderful day and God bless!
Journey along with me as I travel the road of my life. It may not be always an exciting journey, but it is mine and I will live it to the fullest.

I adore this card and I love Duck Dynasty! Michael's Arts and Crafts carries Duck Dynasty figurines and bobble heads :)

ReplyDeleteI am not a Duck Dynasty fan - however love the way you made that tree with the zig-zag edges. Very clever and creative!!! May have to copy that idea.
