31 Days of Halloween--Day 5

Wow..It's Day 5 already.  Are y'all having a good time making your way through all these fabulous blogs?  I know I am.  It's amazing how creative my blog buddies are.  For the duration of this hop, you can find the entire blog roll on the right side of my blog..just in case you get a bit discombobulated along the way.  For a list of the rules, sponsors and the daily clue for the Scavenger Hunt, please check out Terra's Blog.

Today's project is a 3-D Haunted Birdhouse.  I tried for creepy, but for some reason it came out cute.  I'm not very good at this creepy, dark stuff.  Be ready, because this post is picture heavy.

This first picture is of the front of the bird house.  I bought the bird house for $3 at Wal-mart today.  I painted it a flat black and dry brushed it with white, gold, and harvest orange.  I then went back with a dark gray.

This is the right side (facing the front).  I added some Freaky Fabric to mimic spider webs.  I added quite a few little baby spiders crawling around looking for Mama Spider.

Here we see the back.  I apologize for how dark it is. I tried to lighten up the picture, but it didn't work well.  I added some more spiders here on the back and some red and black flowers.

Here she is..Mama Spider with some of her babies.  I found this spider on sale after Halloween a couple years ago.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but she's glittery.  This is the left side of the bird house (facing the front).

Here's another shot of the front.  The skeleton is a Recollections Stamp and I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut him out, inked him with DI Vintage Photo and glued him on.  The raven on the top is actually two ravens from the Martha Stewart Acetate Die Cut pack from last year.  I pulled the backing off one and stuck it to the other to make it stronger, then cut him out of his background.  He's hot glued on the top.

Here's a close up of the skeleton.  I almost forgot to add a stamped image.  I was almost done with my project when it dawned on my lightening fast mind that I hadn't added a stamped image.

Here are a couple of close ups of the hand and Mama Spider.  You can tell in this picture that she's pretty glittery.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate all the great comments that you Horrifying Hoppers and Sinister Lurkers are leaving.  I am going to give away this Haunted Bird House to one lucky commenter.   If you would like to have this birdhouse for your Halloween collection, stay tuned for my post entitled, "Giveaway" which will be coming this weekend.  I will have a trivia question in the post and everyone who answers correctly will have their name put into a bowl and my daughter will draw one name. I want to make sure that you have this by Halloween so I will leave the contest open until the 10th.  The name will be drawn on the 11th and will be mailed out by the 15th.

Thanks again for stopping by..now get goin'.  There is tons more to see!
