Melonheadz Friends Color of Autumn Challenge

Good Morning.  It's Monday and I am dragging this morning.  It was a busy weekend for me.  We traveled to Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday because my daughter was twirling in the Miss America parade.  The troop did really well.  It rained and rained and rained and we were all soaked by the time the parade was over.  Even with ponchos and umbrellas we still got drowned.  But, it was worth it.

This morning starts a new challenge at Melonheadz Friends.  Our theme for this challenge is "Colors of Autumn."  It's almost fall and the trees here in our area are already starting to fall off the trees, so this is a great theme for me.  I love fall.  The crisp air, hoodies, sweatpants, hot chocolate...yep, I love fall.

I finally got to use a piece of burlap that I had laying around on this card.  To me, burlap screams Fall.  I didn't want to use any patterned paper because the card was so busy.  I used the Fall Bundle to create this card and it can be found here.

I hope y'all have a wonderful day.  It's a bit cool this morning and school is about to commence here in our home.  God bless.

You have until September 14th to enter our challenge and the prize is one bundle from Nikki's etsy shop.

Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Melonheadz Challenge--Back to School

         BACK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE

Hi everyone.  Welcome back to our new challenge.  Hope y'all had a good couple of weeks.  We had some phenomenal entries into  our last challenge, "Flowers".

Make sure to check the blog to see if you are a winner or Top 3.
Just a quick reminder of the rules---You aren't required to use an image from Melonheadz, but we love it when you do and you can enter as many times as you like.  If you do not use a Melonheadz image, you are limited to 2 entries.

Our challenge runs for about two weeks so you have until August 31st at 11:55 EDT to enter.  The random winner will receive one (1) bundle of your choice from the Melonheadz Etsy Shop.

Our challenge this round is to create a card, scrapbook page or other project that shows "Back to School."  There are lots of cute images that fit this theme in the store and you can even find some freebies on the blog.

When I saw this too cute bundle I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  I enlarged the backpack to 5x6 and made the card base out of it.  I then printed out the sentiment and used foam squares to adhere it to the front.  I like the way it turned out and I think I'm going to put this in my daughter's room for her the night before school starts.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope y'all have a great day.  God bless.

Melonheadz Friends New Challenge

Happy Monday friends.  Glad to see y'all.  I hope today finds all of you happy, healthy and well.

Today's post is to let y'all know about Melonheadz Friends new challenge.  The theme this time is "Time for Spring."  Yep, it's definitely time for Spring.  I'm so ready.

What do you think of when you think Spring? Flowers, bunnies, Easter, lots of sunshine?  For some reason, I have always loved the Springtime rain showers.  It's like a refreshing of nature to me. The light rains that come in the Spring always leave such a fresh scent in the air.  It's God's way of bringing forth freshness and new life to what laid dormant during the winter.  I just love that.

So, with that being said, I used an image that represented those Springtime showers.

I decided on lots of yellow and blue for this card.  I think it made a great combo.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Remember to always smile at people.  You never know if it's just what they need.  Have a great day and God bless.

Today starts a new challenge over at Melonheadz Friends.  I just adore Nikki's images.  They are so cute and fun to work with.  This two week challenge is :For the Boys.  I decided to work with the Little Boys set.

I used some papers from the Boyhood stack by DCWV and I think they work very well with this image.  I printed out the sentiment from my computer using the old children's rhyme about little boys.  Isn't that  a cute little snail and puppy?

Thank so much for stopping by today.  I hope to see some of y'all at Melonheadz this week. :)  God bless.

New Challenge at Melonheadz Friends

Happy Monday, friends.  Thanks for joining me today for a new challenge at Melonheadz Friends. Our last challenge, "Winter Fun" brought some amazingly creative cards into our blog.  I'm glad I don't have to pick the winner.

This challenge, since it's the Valentine's season, is of course, "Valentine's".  We all have that special someone or someones that we need to make cards for, so here's your opportunity to get a few made.

Y'all know that me and my redneck self loves "Duck Dynasty".  My daughter's favorite character on the show is Uncle Si.  She thinks he is hysterical.  For Christmas, she had a list a mile long of things with Uncle Si on them.  So, I made this card for her.

I think he turned out pretty good.  As you can see, he has his infamous blue tea glass.  On the front, I used Phil's quote, but on the inside it says "That's a fact Jack", which is Uncle Si's quote.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today.  I hope y'all will hop on over to Melonheadz and check out what my design sisters have created.  Have a wonderful Monday and God bless y'all.

I chose the "50's Bundle" to make my card.  I remember when I was a girl, my grandmother made me a poodle skirt.  I loved it and it was black and pink just like this one.  I even had saddle shoes. This bundle comes with those cute little records.  I added the name of some of the songs that were popular in the 50's.

Melonheadz Friends Monda

Happy Monday!  Today is the start of Melonheadz Friends new challenge.  This is our last challenge for this year.  This is sad, but I am looking forward to 2014 and all the wonderful things this new year is going to bring.

Our challenge is: Anything Goes.  I always love these challenges.

I chose to use the "Pink Pirate" Bundle from Nikki's store.  I colored all the images with my BIC Markers and fussy cut everything out.  I used a black sharpie to go around all the edges to hide the white edges. I added some glitter gel pen in Clear Star for some glitter...a girl has to bling it up, right?  I used three different papers from Recollections All Girl stack. The Black card stock is from Recollections and some of the images are adhered using pop dots.  The sentiment is from a Studio G stamp, inked up in Primrose Petals SU ink.

I hope y'all like this cute little pirate.  I am going to save this card for my daughter's birthday in May. She loves pink and black, so she will like it.  Maybe I'll see one of your cards entered into the new challenge this week.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  God bless y'all.

Melonheadz Friends Christmas Challenge

Hello my crafty friends.  I am a bit late posting this card.  I should have had it up on Monday, but I awoke with a migraine and didn't do anything.  That, of course, put me way behind on everything.

This fortnight challenge at Melonheadz Friends is a "Christmas Challenge".  Create anything with a Christmas theme.

Just a quick reminder of our rules - you are not required to use an image from MELONHEADZ ETSY SHOP, but if you do, you can enter as many times as you like and your theme will be anything goes.  If you choose not to use an image from Melonheadz, that is fine too, but then you must follow the challenge theme and are allowed 2 entries per person.

I chose to use a precolored digi set for this card.  I used

the "Gingerbread" set.

I printed out the images on Neenah Solar White card

stock and fussy cut them out.  I used two patterned

papers from DCWV, gems from Queen and Co.  and a

ribbon bow from my stash.  The card base is an Olive

Green from Colorbok.

I hope that we will see y'all for this wide open

challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope y'all have a

great day.  God bless.

Monday at Melonheadz

Good Morning, friends.  I hope y'all enjoyed your weekend.  It snowed here Friday night and my hubby hurt his back at work, so he has been taking it easy all weekend.  Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

Monday's mean a new challenge at Melonheadz Friends.  Our challenges are bi-weekly so you have extra time to get a project in.  Our challenge this week is "Christmas".  I used the Gingerbread Babies set to make my card.  You can purchase this set in either color or black and white Here, in Nikk's Etsy shop.

I haven't put a sentiment on this yet, as I haven't decided whom I am sending it to.  I fussy cut out the people and the house and used foam tape to adhere to the card which has been layered with DCWV paper.  Adding some red gems and an Old Olive ribbon finished off this sweet card.

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I pray everyone has a great day.  Enjoy your last few days before Christmas.  God bless y'all.

Fall Colors with Melonheadz Friends

Welcome back friends.  Today begins a new challenge at Melonheadz Friends.  Our challenge this week is "Fall Colors".  I used the Fall Bundle to create my card.

I combined four images from the set to created this cute little scarecrow.  My papers are DCWV and I added some leaf brads that I took the prongs off of and added with 3D glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will join in our challenge this time at Melonheadz Friends.
Have a great day and God bless!

MOOVELOUS Monday with Melonheadz Friends

Welcome to my blog.  I so appreciate y'all joining me today.

Our challenge at Melonheadz Friends is "Animals".  Nikki has tons and tons of sets with animals, but my favorite has to be "Barnyard Babies".  It's so dang cute.

I made a collage of sorts with three of the barnyard babies and the farmer girl and then printed it out onto white card stock.  I cut around the images and used a Black Sharpie to work around the edges. I didn't want any white edge to show on the image.  The sentiment is from the "Barnyard Babies" collection and I matted it onto a piece of Red Recollections card stock.  The patterned paper is American Crafts.  I chose five buttons and tied some jute cord into the holes and used glue dots to attach them.  The card base is Recollections Red.

I had fun with this challenge this week and I hope y'all will too.  Please feel free to enter a card into this week's challenge.  God bless y'all.
