Playing Catch Up

Happy Monday y'all.  I hope all of y'all are ready for another week.  I am, but it's going to be a busy one.  I am really behind in my card making for last week.  I was super busy and didn't get all of my challenges done.  I think I am up to about 45 a week now.  It really helps me to stock up my stash for cards, but I am being over run.  I need to get some sold.  I probably should open an Etsy shop or put some on eBay.

I am going to post 5 cards here in this one post so that I can get them linked for the challenges.  I am going to be short and brief and just post the challenges they are for as well as the products, but not any details.  I will come back later in the week and post the details.  Sorry for being so short, but it's 3:20 am and I need to get to bed.

Feeling Sketchy #44

Howdy folks.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have a nice springy card for y'all today.

I decided to use shades of green for this card.  I am so waiting to see the first signs of Spring.  I guess we will know for sure tomorrow if it's coming or if we have to suffer through six more weeks of this cold stuff.  If Phil sees his shadow tomorrow I swear I'm going to shoot that little groundhog.  It's all fun and games, but what people don't realize is that groundhogs are blind.  He isn't going to see his shadow at all.  Oh well, such is life.

I started with a SU Crumb Cake base.  I used a Happy Birthday Embossing Folder on a piece of Glitter Green card stock from DCWV.  I used two strips of DP from Gina K Designs Wisteria Lane paper pack.  I used my Cuttlebug and die cut a scalloped circle to put behind the little girl (Provo Craft).  The sentiment is from TCP.  I stamped it in Memento Bamboo Leaves and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo.  The little birthday cake is from a swap that I was in a couple years ago.    I used pop dots on the girl and the cake.

Thanks for stoppin' in today and I hope y'all enjoy your weekend.  God bless ya!

Mojo Monday #278

Good Evening friends.  At least it's evening here in NE PA.  It's cold too.  No temperatures higher than 25 for the weekend.  Man, I'm ready for some warmer weather.  Not hot mind ya, but warmer.

The card I have for y'all today uses the same DP (DCWV Glam Girl) and color scheme as the previous one.  I just love that DP.

I started with a 6" square card base from Gina K.  Each layer is 1/4" smaller than the first.  I used a beautiful shade of purple, but for some reason it looks blueish in the picture.  The Purple, Turquoise and Pink card stocks are from Recollections.  The white is Gina K heavy base weight and layering weight white.  The cute girl image is from Cuddlebug Cuties.  She has some of the most gorgeous girl digis.  Jump over and check her out when y'all have a chance.  She blesses us with free ones every now and again.  I colored the image with my colored pencils and OMS.  I cut her out and used pop dots for dimension.  The sentiment stamp is from TCP and I used my Nestabilities to die cut the sentiment and the scalloped circle.  I added some gems to finish off the card.

I followed the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week and after I put the card together, I realized I should have made the white panel a little smaller so that the banner strips showed better.  They are there, but at the bottom and only the tails show.

Thanks for stoppin' in today and I hope y'all have a blessed day.

First Card as a Digi Darla Design Team Member

Welcome, welcome, welcome.  Thanks for stopping by to visit.  I sure enjoy it.  I wish I could sit down on the porch and have a glass of ice cold tea with y'all, but since I can't, I can only show off some of my work.

This card is my first entry as a Digi Darla new design team member.  I am so thrilled to have been picked.  I look forward to getting to know all my teamies and seeing all the beautiful creations that are posted each week by the design team as well as the ladies who enter the challenges.  The challenge this week is #47, Winter Blues.  I chose, of course, a Digi Darla image called Haley's Hat.  I think she is pretty snazzy.

I started with a dark blue card stock from Colorbok for the card base.  I followed a Mojo Monday sketch from back in September of last year.  I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to die cut the three circles and layered them behind the image.  The image is colored with colored pencils and OMS.  I used a Midnight Blue from Colorbok for the vertical strip which I matted on white card stock (GP) after running it through a Sixxix Embossing Folder..  I added the image and then a strip of medium blue matted on white and banner cut, run  through a Tim Holtz embossing folder,  on pop dots to hold the sentiment.  The sentiment is from a stamp set by TCP.  I inked the edges of the image and the sentiment with DI Vintage Photo just to help it pop out a little bit.  Adding five gems from Queen and Co. finished off the card.

Thanks again for stoppin' in to visit me today as I cruise along on my highway of creativity.  God bless y'all.

A Girlie Card

Welcome to my blog.  Today's card is going to be entered into three different challenges.  The first challenge, QKR Stampede, is Soft Pastels. The second challenge, Love to Create, is an Anything Goes challenge with a sentiment. The third challenge, Stamping for the Weekend, is for Something Girlie.  I love the shabby chic look even though I am not that good at creating it.  So, for this card, I just started adding elements without really spending too much time arguing with myself over them.  This is how it turned out....

To make this card, I started with a Whisper White (SU) card base A2 size.  I trimmed down a piece of pink card stock from Recollections to 4"x5.25".  I adhered that to the card base.  I found two pieces of DP from Kand Co. that I liked and cut them down to 2" wide.  For the lighter pink, I shortened it to 5" and the darker pink to 4.5".  I notched the ends of each one for a banner effect. I then inked them both with DI Vintage Photo and adhered them to the card.  I took a piece of white lace and using glue dots, I scrunched it up across the card.  To hide the raw edge of the lace I used a punched strip of green card stock from Recollections. I used pop dots on the top edge of the strip to even out both sides.  I punched a piece of White (GP) card stock into an oval and using pop dots added this sweet little vintage girl that I received in a swap a couple years ago.  I then used pop dots to adhere the whole thing to the card.  In the upper right hand corner I added a paper heart inked with DI Vintage Photo and three paper flowers from Recollections.  The sentiment is from TCP's Faith Greetings stamps set.  It is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and inked with DI Vintage Photo.  I added the sentiment on an angle with pop dots.

I like the way this card turned out.  Kinda vintage, kinda shabby but still pretty clean.  I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.  Keep tuned in for some more creations and my first post for Digi Darla.  God bless you.

I Forgot

Hello again my friends.  I'm back with another card for a new challenge blog that I found.  Crafty Card Makers has some great challenges.  This week's challenge was to make a Belated Birthday Card.  I'm always in need of one of those because my poor brain is the size of a peanut and I don't always remember birthdays.

I chose this cute little elephant from a TCP Stamp called Circus Time.  I used my BIC Markers to color him in.  I used my glitter gel pens for the stand and ball.  I even added some Sakura Glitter pen to the curlie Q's on his hat.  I punched out the ball with a 5/8" circle punch.  I tried to use bright and colorful patterned paper and card stock for a cheery card.  The card base is from Colorbok, the DP is from DCWV, The yellow and pink card stocks are from Recollections.  I cut the image down to 3.5" square, inked the edges with SU Coral, matted it on the same blue as the base, then a yellow.  All mats are 1/8th larger in size.  I printed out the sentiment and inked the edges with the same Coral.  I used pop dots on the sentiment and the ball.  Adding four red rhinestones finished off this cute belated birthday card.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you guys are staying warm.  It's bitter cold here in NE PA and my feet feel like blocks of ice.  Take care and God bless!
