Hi there. It's Saturday and that means another new challenge over at Paper a La Mode. We had some great entries this past week. It's going to be very hard to pick a winner.
This week's challenge is "Hugs and Kisses". With Valentine's Day right around the corner we need to make these cards so that we have them and aren't rushing around at the last minute.
This little cutie is from a card kit that I bought last year at Michael's after Valentine's Day. I love the vintage feel with all the stitching. I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't. I don't even own a sewing machine...yet.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope y'all have a great Saturday. I'm not going to be doing much but laying around and trying to recoup. God bless y'all.
Journey along with me as I travel the road of my life. It may not be always an exciting journey, but it is mine and I will live it to the fullest.
2014 Life Verse
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

Old Friends
Thanks for coming back to see what I have created. I used an image from Beccy Muir and a sentiment from Gina K Designs.
My challenge this time was to make a masculine card. I have been wanting to use this image for a while, but haven't had a chance until now. I love it. It reminds me of my grandpa. He used to wear work boots like this all the time. My relationship with my grandpa was a very special one. I miss him terribly.
I started with a square, Chocolate card base from Recollections. After coloring the image, printed on Neenah card stock, with colored pencils, I rounded the corners and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo. I used a mat of Crumb Cake and a mat of Cajun Craze from SU for the image. I rounded the corners of those two also. The DP is from DCWV. I added a strip of Vellum to the right hand side after notching the ends. I used my Nestabilities to cut out the sentiment circle and scalloped circle, (Cajun Craze). I inked the circle with DI Vintage Photo, then stamped the sentiment. I added a brown square piece of card stock and adhered the sentiment on top of it with a pop dot. Adding three brads from Recollections finished off the card.
I hope y'all enjoyed your visit today. I appreciate it. God bless y'all.

Vintage Valentine
Hi there. Don't you just love Valentine's Day? I do. But for me, it's not just about the cute cards, chocolates and flowers. It's a remembrance for me of the One who loved me enough to die for me. The One who endured so much, just so that I could be redeemed. That One? Jesus Christ. His love for all of us is the most wonderful example of Valentine's Day there is. If there was a way I could send Him a Valentine's Day card, I would. The best I can do is just to tell Him on a regular basis how much I love Him and am thankful for the His sacrifice on Golgotha's Hill over 2000 years ago.
Today's card uses a vintage photo of two darling angels. I used my pink colored pencil to add some color to their robes while leaving the rest of the picture in shades of gray.
I started with a piece of Real Red (SU) card stock for the A2 card base. I inked the edges of the photo with DI Vintage Photo and matted it on a piece of Cream card stock (Recollections). I then found a vintage post card image in my stash and inked it all over with the Vintage Photo ink to distress it a bit. I chose a piece of DCWV brown and red rose patterned paper as the background. I adhered the DP and then the post card image. I added a strip of double sided tape (American Crafts) to the center of the card and added the red gathered ribbon. I then used pop dots to adhere the angels. The sentiment is from Studio G and stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. I added some brads to the corners for a finished look.
It's not overly cluttered with embellishments, but I think it has that vintage feel.
I am entering this card into the ABC Challenges, the Robin's Fetishes and the Shopping Our Stash challenges for this week.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you enjoyed my card for today. God bless y'all.

A Girlie Card
Welcome to my blog. Today's card is going to be entered into three different challenges. The first challenge, QKR Stampede, is Soft Pastels. The second challenge, Love to Create, is an Anything Goes challenge with a sentiment. The third challenge, Stamping for the Weekend, is for Something Girlie. I love the shabby chic look even though I am not that good at creating it. So, for this card, I just started adding elements without really spending too much time arguing with myself over them. This is how it turned out....
To make this card, I started with a Whisper White (SU) card base A2 size. I trimmed down a piece of pink card stock from Recollections to 4"x5.25". I adhered that to the card base. I found two pieces of DP from Kand Co. that I liked and cut them down to 2" wide. For the lighter pink, I shortened it to 5" and the darker pink to 4.5". I notched the ends of each one for a banner effect. I then inked them both with DI Vintage Photo and adhered them to the card. I took a piece of white lace and using glue dots, I scrunched it up across the card. To hide the raw edge of the lace I used a punched strip of green card stock from Recollections. I used pop dots on the top edge of the strip to even out both sides. I punched a piece of White (GP) card stock into an oval and using pop dots added this sweet little vintage girl that I received in a swap a couple years ago. I then used pop dots to adhere the whole thing to the card. In the upper right hand corner I added a paper heart inked with DI Vintage Photo and three paper flowers from Recollections. The sentiment is from TCP's Faith Greetings stamps set. It is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and inked with DI Vintage Photo. I added the sentiment on an angle with pop dots.
I like the way this card turned out. Kinda vintage, kinda shabby but still pretty clean. I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by. Keep tuned in for some more creations and my first post for Digi Darla. God bless you.
