Christmas Baubles at My Time to Craft

Hello my friends.  Welcome back to my blog.  I have been hard at work crafting away.  I'm so bad though, I haven't started my Christmas cards yet.  Hopefully I have enough that I have made between last year and this to send out.  I'm shortening my list drastically, but still need quite a few.

Today's card is for the My Time to Craft's challenge "Christmas Baubles".  I made a CAS card for this challenge.

These ornaments are from one of my first stamp sets and I have no idea who designed it.  I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a card base made from GP card stock.  I colored them with Sakura Glitter pens.  I added a sentiment at the bottom.  That's it..very simple.

Lady Bug Card

Howdy y'all.  It's been pretty chilly here this week, so I thought I would make a card to try and bring back some beautiful Spring weather.

This cute card uses an image from the internet that I found a while ago.  

I colored this little lady with BIC markers.  I followed this week's sketch from My Favorite Things to make this card using papers from DCWV.  I matted each paper and the image on a Blue card stock from Recollections.  The card base is made from the same Blue card stock.  Adding two square buttons from my stash finished up the card.

To create the inside of the card, I used the same papers and card stock, following the sketch pretty closely.  I don't know why there is such a shadow on the right side of the picture, but there isn't a dark spot on the actual card.

Beauty is the gift of God card

Welcome back friends.  It's good to see ya.  I have a card for y'all that showcases one of Shelly's Images.  Check out Shelly's site here.  

One of the challenges I am entering this card in gave us a theme of creating your own background.  I used chalks to create the back ground behind the horse.  I sure hope that counts as creating your own background.  I printed out the image on GP card stock and colored it with colored pencils and OMS.  I added some silver gel pen to the bridle findings.  I had this cute little fence in one of my Recollections sets.  I stamped it three times and cut them out after coloring them with BIC markers.  I added them along the bottom of the card and pulled out some little Prima flowers to add along the fence.  I should have added some vines, but oh well, my flowers are just floating in air.  I stamped the little bluebird and cut him out and added him to the card with a pop dot.  The butterfly and bee are from the same Recollections stamp set that the fence is from and I think it's called Garden Gnome.

I trimmed down the image to 4"x5.25" and put it on a Kraft (Recollections) card base.  I inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo before adhering it.  The sentiment is one I received in a RAK.   Adding a few little gem centers to my flowers finished off the card.

2 Chronicles 15:7

Welcome back to my blog where creative things happen.  I've been pretty creative today.  It's been dreary and with nothing on the schedule for a change, I got to play.

I have a card that uses a Dearie Dolls image.  That is one talented lady, that Mary Ellen is.  She creates the cutest images.

To begin, I printed out the image and sentiment on Neenah card stock and used BIC markers to color in the image.  I used some glitter gel pens in green and purple to color in the butterflies.  

The card base is Old Olive (SU).  I used a Nestabilities circle die to cut out the image and sentiment.  I matted the image onto a square of Old Olive card stock.  The DP is from Cardmaking Magazine and was a freebie.  The green striped DP and the purple card stock are from my stash.

Dirt Road Anthem

Here we go..card #3.  When I saw this image, I immediately thought of Jason Aldeen's Dirt Road Anthem.  

I found this cute image online for free when I first started into my digi stamp obsession.  It is from Dustin Pike and is from 2009.  I used my BIC markers and a metallic silver gel pen to give the image some life.  I remember going to the Monster Truck shows with my dad when I was a kid.  I loved it.  Grave Digger was one of my favorites.   I cut out the image and used pop dots to add it to the card to make it kinda look like it's zooming across the card.  The card base is Crumb Cake from SU.  I added a cool DP from Colorbok's Masculine pack that looks like dirt and mud.  The corners are made from a Dark Blue card stock from Recollections and DP from DCWV My Guy pack.  I inked the edges of the truck with DI Vintage Photo so that the white wasn't so stark.  The sentiment is from Verses which I matted on Black from SU.

Old Friends

Thanks for coming back to see what I have created.  I used an image from Beccy Muir and a sentiment from Gina K Designs.  

My challenge this time was to make a masculine card. I have been wanting to use this image for a while, but haven't had a chance until now.  I love it.  It reminds me of my grandpa.  He used to wear work boots like this all the time.  My relationship with my grandpa was a very special one.  I miss him terribly.

I started with a square, Chocolate card base from Recollections.  After coloring the image, printed on Neenah card stock,  with colored pencils, I rounded the corners and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo.  I used a mat of Crumb Cake and a mat of Cajun Craze from SU for the image.  I rounded the corners of those two also.  The DP is from DCWV.  I added a strip of Vellum to the right hand side after notching the ends.  I used my Nestabilities to cut out the sentiment circle and scalloped circle, (Cajun Craze).  I inked the circle with DI Vintage Photo, then stamped the sentiment.  I added a brown square piece of card stock and adhered the sentiment on top of it with a pop dot.  Adding three brads from Recollections finished off the card.

Love is in the Air

Welcome y'all.  For this card, I changed up the usual color scheme a little bit. Most Valentine's or love cards use shades of red, pink, white or black.  Today, I chose to use blues and pinks.

This is another gorgeous Anne Fenton image.  Of course, as usual, it's colored with colored pencils and OMS.  I trimmed it down and matted it on a medium shade of blue.  The card base is Recollections and the DP is DCWV.  I found this cool flower in my stash.  I added a bit of Offray blue striped ribbon for contrast.  Tilting the image gives your eyes  a little bit of a change.  I have a miniature heart punch that I used to kinda frame the image.  I actually made a mistake when I was laying out the image and sentiment on my processing program.  I didn't catch it until after it was printed.  I liked the way it turned out with the  umbrella melding into the sentiment.  It definitely gives it interest.

A Little Thank You

Hello friends.  Thanks for stopping in to see my latest creation.  The card I made is going to be entered into four challenges.  Sketch Saturday has the sketch, My Time to Craft has a Things with Wings challenge, One Stop Craft has a Sparkle and Bling challenge, and Sentimental Sunday's challenge is for Thank You cards.

I started this card with Basic Black (SU) card stock.  I made this into a 5" square card to follow the sketch.  I used a piece of American Crafts DP for the background.  I added Olive Green (SU) and then Crumb Cake (SU).  The side pieces are the reverse side of the background paper which I cut down to 2"x1.5" and rounded the corners.  Once everything was put together, I stamped different thank you sayings from an Inkadinkado stamp set.  I used Colorbox Cat's Eye inks in shades of green for the words.  For the center thank you, I colored it with a green glitter gel pen for the sparkle.  I outlined it with my white gel pen and added faux stitching around the edges of the Crumb Cake and Olive Green.  I used a dark green BIC marker to add faux stitches on the side pieces.  For the bling, I added large gems (Queen and Co.) to the three corners and a black die cut butterfly to the bottom right corner.  I added three small gems to the center of the butterfly to complete the card.
