Best Friends Card

Good Morning, friends.  It's early Monday morning and I am up so I thought I would go ahead and post. Kierstynne's first day of PSSA testing is today and I am not looking forward to it.  She doesn't do well with tests.  She tends to freeze up because she has this whole perfectionism thing going on.  I have explained to her that these PSSA don't count against her and aren't part of her grade, but that doesn't matter..it's still a test and she could get a wrong answer.  8 years old and stressing out already..poor girl.  If  you get a second today, please say a quick prayer for her that she will be calm and do well today.  Thanks.

I have a card for y'all this morning that uses one of Sherry Baldy's Besties.  These images are so dang cute!

I used colored pencils to give this image it's color.  I made this one an easel card so that I could add lots of elements.  I made the flowers using a Lala Land Crafts rose die and an EK Success 5 petal flower punch.  I inserted pearls into the centers of the flowers to finish them.  The pearls and gems are from Queen and Co and Prima.  I made the card base from Pink HOTP card stock and added a DP from American Crafts.  I matted the image on Old Olive SU card stock.  I did add a bit of Sakura Clear Star Glitter pen to the image for highlights.

Fairy Kisses

Howdy Friends.  Welcome back.  I have one more card for y'all this evening.  This one uses a freebie that I found online when I first started collecting digis.

I made a 5.5"x5.5" card base from More Mustard (SU) card stock.  I added a piece of American Traditions DP for the back ground.  I trimmed a piece of green distressed DP from American Crafts and added it horizontally across the card.  I then printed the image onto Neenah card stock and used my BIC markers and Glitter Gel Pens to add color to the image.  I trimmed it down and matted it on a piece of My Mind's Eye card stock.  I printed out the sentiment from my computer and added some yellow glitter pen around the edges of the star.  I used a pop dot and added it to the card.

Dirt Road Anthem

Here we go..card #3.  When I saw this image, I immediately thought of Jason Aldeen's Dirt Road Anthem.  

I found this cute image online for free when I first started into my digi stamp obsession.  It is from Dustin Pike and is from 2009.  I used my BIC markers and a metallic silver gel pen to give the image some life.  I remember going to the Monster Truck shows with my dad when I was a kid.  I loved it.  Grave Digger was one of my favorites.   I cut out the image and used pop dots to add it to the card to make it kinda look like it's zooming across the card.  The card base is Crumb Cake from SU.  I added a cool DP from Colorbok's Masculine pack that looks like dirt and mud.  The corners are made from a Dark Blue card stock from Recollections and DP from DCWV My Guy pack.  I inked the edges of the truck with DI Vintage Photo so that the white wasn't so stark.  The sentiment is from Verses which I matted on Black from SU.

Welcome back friends.  This is my last card for this batch.  I will have more either tonight or tomorrow morning.  

I chose an image from Digi Darla to make this card.  I used my colored pencils and OMS for this image, printed on Neenah card stock.

I began this card with a Calypso Coral (SU) card square card base.  I added a Sage Green Panel (SU).
I wanted the image to be the focal so I didn't add any DP to this card.  I matted the image on a panel of Crumb Cake card stock (SU).  The sentiment is from Doodle Pantry.  I added two little corner embellies that I found in my stash to finish off the card.

Morning Glory

Howdy.  I'm plugging along.  I appreciate y'all staying with me.  I know it's early morning.

Card #7 uses an Anne Fenton image.  I just love Anne's images.  They are so cute.  She's definitely got alot of talent.  I used my colored pencils and OMS for this one.  A shocker right?  I cut it out using my oval Nestabilities.  

I had a sketch to follow for this card.  I changed it up just a tad.  It called for two banner strips, but I chose to only use one.  I trimmed a piece of burgundy card stock to 4"x5.25" and ran it through the D'vine Swirls EB.  I then cut it in half and trimmed about 1/8th" off of each half.  I used pop dots to adhere them to the SU Crumb Cake card base.  I took the image, matted it on the oval from the burgundy piece and added it to the middle.  I cut out the banner from SU Crumb Cake, split it in half and adhered it to the card.  I cut it down after I added to the card.  Placing some flat back deep red pearls along the framed edge finished off the card.

Sunflower

Hello there.  I'm so glad to see that y'all are back to visit.  I hope you like what we have for y'all today.

This beautiful card was made using an image I received in a swap.  It's a beautiful sunflower, which is one of my most favorite flowers.  They are so bright, tall and sunny.  I love the seeds in my salads too.

I colored this beauty with my colored pencils and OMS.  I used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the leaves and flower when I finished coloring.  

To put this card together, I started with a standard A2 size card base made from SU Chocolate Chip card stock.  The patterned paper I used is from Gina K Designs Wisteria Lane collection.  I cut it to 4"x5.25" and adhered it to the card base.  The next layer is Very Vanilla from SU and is cut to 3.75"x4.75".  The next layer is Burnt Orange from Colorbok.  It's cut at 3.50"x4.50".  The image itself is cut to 3.25"x4.25".  Before adhering them all together, I cut a slit into the image layer just big enough to slide the ribbon through.  I tucked it around behind the image and wrapped it around the burnt orange layer and the vanilla layer and pulled it around to the front.  I adhered the image layer onto the other two and onto the card.  I tied the bow to finish off the card.
