Simply B November Challenge

Hello there.  I haven't posted in a while, but I'm back tonight with a card that I made for the Simply B Fan Page challenge for November.  You could pick either the Indian Betty or the Pilgrim Betty.  I chose Indian Betty.

I had to color this girl twice.  I tried the first time with my Spectrum Noir, but I couldn't get her hair to look right.  So, I printed her out again and colored her with my trusty Crayolas.

Isn't she adorable?  I made my background paper with Martha Stewart Stamps.  Some of the are leaves and some are feathers.  I used Memento inks to stamp with.  I added some paper flowers die cut from a Cuttlebug die and added some rhinestones to the centers.  The sentiment is from Mary at Cardz TV.  I just love her stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great day.  God bless y'all.

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Saturday with Paper A La Mode

Hello there.  Today is Saturday...yippee..and this starts another new challenge over at Paper A La Mode.  Last week's challenge was sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.  Y'all know how much I love Rick's images.  The winner is going to receive 2 images of their choice from Rick's new zibbets store.

This week our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  Jodie has some wonderful designs over in her shop.  The winner of this week's challenge will receive 2 images of their choice.

Our theme for this week was chosen by Theresa, and it's Stars and Snowflakes.

Here's what I created:
The stamp set that I used is from Jenny Ellory and the papers are from DCWV Winter Basics 6x6 paper pad. Even though the card stock looks green it is actually turquoise.  I used the rosettes stamp to make the circles and added some light turquoise gems to the center. The bows are part of the stamp set and I just stamped them on the patterned paper and cut them out.  It's a very simple Christmas card, but I like it.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope y'all enjoy your day.  God bless ya!

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Oldie but a Goodie--CAS Christmas
Papertake Weekly--Snow and Ice
Shopping Our Stash--Use Something on Your Desk--stamp set
Twisted Tuesday--Pop Dots and Polka Dots (sentiment pop dotted; polka dots in patterned paper and the circle background)

Ike's World Challenge #4

Hello friends.  I am home alone tonight so I have been crafting my heart out.  I got four cards made and still have one to go.

This first card is for the Ike's World Challenge #4 Krazy Kritterz.  I love Ike's artwork.  It's amazing.  If you haven't ever seen it, please make sure to check it out.

I used a cute little Santa Dog for this card.

I tried to color him like my Jack Russell and he came out pretty close.  I used Crayola colored pencils and OMS.  The papers are from The Paper Studio and the card stock is Recollections.  I stamped the sentiment (from my stash) with Versa Fine Onyx Black.  I followed the sketch from this week's challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge.  I am also entering this one into the Paper Take Weekly Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  I love reading the comments that you guys leave for me.  Have a great night.

DS4J Shapes and Buttons

Hello friends.  I begin this post with a heavy heart.  My cousin, Ben, whom I wrote about in the last post, went to be with the Lord yesterday.  His young body suffered too much damage to survive.  Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.  Please, continue to keep his mom, sister and father in your prayers.  Thanks.

I have a card for you that I made for the Digital Stamps 4 Joy challenge this week.  Challenge #71 is Button it Up Shapely.  Translation: make a shaped card and add buttons.  I am also entering this card into some other challenges and they are listed at the bottom of this post.

I began by folding a 6x12 piece of Colorbok Pink card stock in half to form a base.  I printed out this shape on the computer and hand cut two black shapes from Recollections card stock.  I made an easel card from the base and adhered one of the black pieces to the front, the other to the inside bottom.  I then cut around the shapes so that the only pink you see is at the very top when the card is closed.  I so want a Grand Calibur or a Big Shot so that I can die cut shaped cards without all the fussy cutting.  It would be so much easier.

I used an image from DS4J designed by Jen Lee..love love love her images.  This one is called Misteri's Prom.  I colored her with colored pencils and OMS.  I am so thrilled..I bought my first three Prismacolor Pencils the other day at AC Moore.  I bought two shades of skin tones and a pink for the cheeks.  I love them.  I am definitely going to have to invest in a whole set.   I chose a sentiment from Desert Diva and added that to the inside of the card.  The remaining pink card stocks are from Recollections and the DP is all DCWV.  All of those buttons are from my stash.

I hope y'all enjoyed your visit today.  I hope y'all have a great day.  God bless.

I Only Have Eyes for You

Welcome back to my blog.  I sure do appreciate y'all taking the time to come see me.

I have a cute card that uses an image from Little Miss Muffet called Monsters Lou and Tia.

I thought they were pretty cute.  I used my colored pencils on them after printing the image and sentiment off on Neenah White Card Stock.  The card design is from Seems a Little Sketchy.  The card stock is Recollections and SU.  The DP is DCWV and American Crafts.  I punched out a ton of little stars with an EK Success punch from a scrap piece of DCWV star paper.  The sentiment is matted onto SU Old Olive and a cool Glittered Blue DP.  I used pop dots to add height to the word "Eyes".

I hope y'all enjoyed this card today.  I pray everyone has a great 4th of July tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by and God bless.

Gone Fishin'

Hello friends.  Well, y'all can relax now.  Monday is over..:)  I have been busy, busy, busy in my craft room getting cards made for this week.  I have a sweet image from Anji's Antics for ya today.

Isn't this a sweet little guy?  Fishing away with his best friend by his side.

To begin, I printed out the image and sentiment onto Neenah card stock and used Colored Pencils and Chalk to add color.  After trimming down the image, I matted it onto Kraft card stock from Recollections.  I followed the Papertake Weekly sketch for this week to put the card together.  The DPs are all from DCWV. The sentiment is matted onto Aqua Recollections card stock and popped up with pop dots.  The card base is the same Kraft card stock as the image mat.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope y'all had a great day and have an even better night.  God bless y'all.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs.

Shheeewww!!! It's hot here today.  88 degrees in May. This should not be happening.  We have three ceiling fans and two smaller fans going and it's still hot.  My husband is going to have to plug in the a/c tonight.

So, thanks for stopping by today.  I have a wedding card for y'all today.  My husband's cousin is getting married next month and I made this card for them, but it fits a couple of challenges too.  I used a Beccy Muir image for this card and paper pieced the wedding dress, veil and tux.

I had this fancy cream colored paper in my stash and I'm not sure what I was hoarding it for, but it worked perfectly for her dress and veil.  I used a SU Gray for the tux.  The vest is the same paper as the dress.  I used my Spectrum Noir to color in the couple.

I stamped the sentiment with Memento Espresso Truffle.  It's a set from Inkadinkado called Marriage.

I used SU Basic Black for the card base.  The DP is from Colorbok.  I added a sheer silver ribbon and some pearls from Queen and Co. to finish it off.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I have a couple more to post so stay tuned.  God bless.

Big Girl Panties

Good Morning my friends.  I hope your week is going good.  I had a doctor's appt. yesterday and have finally discovered the reason behind my severe pain, exhaustion, and other issues.  I have Fibromyalgia.  But, I cannot take care of that until I get the PTSD under control because I can't be medicated when I go see the doctor.  I have to be feeling all the emotional issues so that the doctor can prescribe the right combo of meds for the PTSD.  Go figure.  If it isn't one thing it's another..always.  But, I do have my crafting to help keep me sane.

So, here's a cute card that I made for a couple of challenges.

When I saw this sentiment from Create with TLC, I knew I had to use it on a card.  I love it!  The little girl is from The Digi Garden.  I used my Chromatix to color her in and the Fiskars Shape Maker to cut it out. I inked the edges of the image and sentiment with DI Vintage Photo.  I followed a sketch from Feeling Sketchy to make this card.  The card base is Old Olive from SU.  The DP background is American Crafts and the DP pieces are DCWV.  I added some gems from Queen and Co and the flower is one that I dyed using the homemade alcohol inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  God bless y'all and have a great day!

Indian Woman

Hi there.  Grab a seat..I have a story.

Have any of you ever had the desire to meet your ancestors who have gone on before you?  I do.  Have them all the time.  My family has alot of Native American in it.  I have always been fascinated with American Indians.  The stories of the braves who stole their wives from white villages, the ability to take a deer hide and made a beautiful wedding dress, the long, thick, rich black hair.  But, there are the horror stories too..Battle of Bull Run, Chief Sitting Bull, The Trail of Tears..too many tears over the years.   I always envisioned that I would marry a Native American brave, but I got an Italian instead..go figure.

The card I made today uses an image of a Native American woman in a deer skin dress painting pottery.  This image is from QKR Stampede.

I used colored pencils and OMS to add life to this image.  Her long black hair is done up in a bun to keep it out of paint.  Her deer skin clothing is warm so it must be a winter portrait.  Even though you can't see her face, I feel like she is really concentrating on her work.

I chose the DPs because they remind me of the colors and designs of the Native American wares.  Not only the blankets, but the bags, clothes, hand made baskets and pottery.  The DP is American Crafts.  I put this on a card base made from SU Chocolate Chip.  I put the sentiment (Word Art Wednesday) at an angle so that the image would not be covered.  I didn't think it needed alot of bling.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If y'all have Native American in your family, I would love to hear about it in a comment.  Thanks so much..God bless y'all.

Cherish the Moments

Good evening friends.  Thanks for stopping by.  I have been working my fingers to the bone for the past couple of days printing digis, making cards, teaching Kierstynne, laundry..whew..Thank goodness it's Friday.

I have a sweet card to show off tonight.  I used a digi from A Piece of Heart as the focal.

To begin this card, I made a card base from SU Basic Black.  I then added a back ground DP from DCWV.  I cut out the stamp, inked the edges with Vintage Photo DI and adhered it to the center of the card.  I added a blue edged medallion to the upper right hand corner under the edge of the focal panel.  I added two blue buttons and two blue butterflies from my stash.  I used a Sakura Clear Glitter pen to highlight the words, you just can't see it in the photo.  I also used a blue glitter pen to fill in the hearts and dots on the butterflies.  I added gems to the center of the bigger butterfly for some bling.  Adding the gems in the corner finished off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  God bless y'all.
