Turtle in the Rain

Welcome back friends.  I have another card for y'all this afternoon.  This one  uses an image and sentiment from QKR Stampede.

I love turtles and this one has the cutest expression. I used Spectrum Noir pens to add color to this little guy.  I matted the image and sentiment on a panel of green DP from DCWV.  The card base is A2 size and made from SU Old Olive.  The background DP is also DCWV.  After I had the card together, I added some Glossy Accents to the rain drops.  This was a very easy card to make.

I hope y'all are enjoying your Wednesday evening.  Have a great night.  God bless.

You're Tweet!

Hello friends.  I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far.  It's hump day..half way to the weekend. Kierstynne has her first twirling parade this Saturday. She is so excited.  Last year she only got to carry the flag, this year she gets to twirl.  I'm so proud of her.

The card I have to show y'all today uses a cute little image from Digi Darla.  I colored it with BIC markers.

I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch to make this card.  I pulled out a new paper pack for this one. It's by Pink Paislee and is called London Market.  I love this one.  I am going to have to buy a couple more to hoard.  I used SU Very Vanilla for the base and mats.  I inked the image with DI Vintage Photo.  I stamped the sentiment from Studio G directly onto the lace strip with Versa Fine Onyx ink.  Adding three large pearls from Queen and Co finished off this card.

Thanks for stopping in to see me.  I hope you enjoy your day.  God bless y'all.

Prayers for America Card

Good Morning.  Wow, I just happened to glance down and see that it's 4 am.  Holy smokes.  Well, let's get these cards posted.

As I was looking through my challenge list for this week, I realized that one of them was Red, White, and Blue.  In light of what has gone on in Boston and Texas this past week, I decided to make a card as a tribute to those who lost their lives and were injured.

Sorry the pic is a little dark, but hopefully you can see all the elements.  This little guy is marching his way across the USA to bring support to those in Boston and Texas.  I used my colored pencils to bring him to life.  After coloring him, I used my Fiskars Oval shape cutter to die cut him.  The card base is Recollections Red and I used it for the mats on the DP also.  All the DP is from DCWV.  I used the shape cutter to cut out the sentiment oval and mat, also.  I hand wrote the sentiment and inked the image and sentiment with DI Vintage Photo.  Adding some red gems from Queen and Co. finished off this prayerful card.

Thank you for joining me tonight/this morning.  I hope y'all enjoy your Saturday and God bless America!

Alter It

Happy Saturday y'all.  I have to go grocery shopping, but first I wanted to post this.  I tried my hand at altering a box.  I have never tried this before and I think it turned out OK.  For my first try anyway.  I have been watching some of the videos on YouTube and am totally amazed at the boxes that those ladies alter.  WOWZA!!

I started by painting the box that I bought at AC Moore for $1 with Eggshell White paint that I had in my stash from when I was painting ceramics.  I let it dry and added some Crackle Medium.  I then used a piece of DP from DCWC that has a light burgundy flower pattern. I used Modge Podge, but it bubbled some and I don't like the way you can see the bubbles in the paper.  I inked all the edges of the papers in Vintage Photo DI before adhering them.  I then took a string of flat back Ivory Pearls and hot glued them around the bottom of the box.  Then came the fun part.  I added an Ivory Pearl Swirl to the top and began adding roses.  The roses are from Prima and I just kept adding them until I liked the effect.  I also added one to the bottom of the box.  To fill in the hollow spots, I added some little fabric roses that I bought at AC Moore.

I also added a bottom paper to the inside of the box and a top paper to the inside.  And that, my friends, finished up my first attempt at altering a box.  I hope you like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by on this beautiful Saturday.  It's supposed to be about 65 degrees today so I am doing the happy dance.  God bless y'all and have a wonderful day.

SODAlightful

It's me again..hehe  I have another card.  This one uses a freebie from Paper Crafting World.

Isn't this a fun card?  I love that image.  I used Spectrum Noir pens and a Sakura Glitter Pen to add color and sparkle. I also inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo. The card base is 5.5x5.5 and used Gina K heavy base weight white.  I added two different  DPs from DCWV Glam Girl pack  in an alternating pattern to form the back ground.  I matted the image and sentiment on a Hot Pink from Colorbok.  The elements I added in the upper right corner are all from my stash.

I like the fun look of this card.  I hope you do too.  Have a great day and thanks again for stopping in.  God bless y'all.
