Day 22 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop

It's Day 22 and I have another altered, recycled project for y'all.  This time, I had a bit of help.  My daughter, Kierstynne, loves to play with all my supplies.  She sees my folder of digi stamps on the computer and her eyes glaze over.  She wanted to color her first Kenny K image, so she picked out one  and colored it with her markers.  Yep, that's right..she has her own set of markers and she's not allowed to mess with mine.

I found this jar ring when I was cleaning out my junk drawer and knew I would never use it for canning.  But, for some odd reason, I just didn't toss it.  I'm so glad I didn't.  Here's what I came up with....

I took the ring and drew around the edges to measure the chipboard backing pieces.  I hand cut them out then laid one of them onto the patterned paper and cut it out.  I hot glued the inside piece and the backing piece to  the ring.  I then fussy cut Kierstynne's image out and cut a title.  I used pop dots to add the witch and hot glue for the sentiment.  You really can't see it, but around the outside of the ring is some 1/4" black satin ribbon and 6mm green rhinestones.

I think it turned out pretty good.  Of course, I won't ever see it again as it has disappeared into the great chasm that is Kierstynne's bedroom.  She has a 4 ft. pink Christmas tree in her room that stays up all year and she adds stuff to it that she wants to display year round.  There's lots of Halloween stuff on it right now.

Thanks for taking a break on my blog and I hope y'all have a great day!  Make sure to stop by Terra's blog for all the lists and rules.

  1. As you were describing the ribbon and jeweled ring I was thinking this will look great on a Halloween tree!
I have some quick frozen dinner type trays sitting in the recycling bin that never seem to get taken out with the other things. If I find a use for them I will know where they are. Meanwhile I can't get accused of holding onto junk. (If anyone else took out the trash they would not be safe.)
