2013 in Review

Hello, my friends.  Today is New Year's Eve.  The last day of 2013.  As I sit here, looking back on this year, I see alot of things.  Good things, bad things, sad things, happy things and every where in between.  This has been a hard year for my family.  We've struggled with deaths in our family.  My dad passed away on Memorial Day from cancer, my uncle passed away two weeks after that from cancer, and we lost my 23 year old cousin to a drunk driving accident in July.  We've struggled financially, emotionally, and physically.  During the first few months of this year I was recovering from a broken neck and neck surgery, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and for Christmas, I had the Shingles.

But, on the bright side, my husband and I have a stronger relationship, my daughter is doing great in 4th grade and I have three new design team positions for the new year.  I have been enjoying my current design team positions and have been stretching my boundaries with my card making.

I would like to revisit some of my most favorite cards of 2013.  These are the ones that I think turned out the best.  I hope y'all enjoy this trip down memory lane.

This one was made for Sassy Studio Designs PCP challenge

I followed a sketch challenge to create this card.

Using a new star burst technique

One of the cards made for Teapot Tuesday over at Splitcoast Stampers

Kenny K's wonderful talent just inspires me

I made this card for my dad's 65th birthday, but never got to give it to him.

Another beautiful Kenny K creation

I think this has to be my most favorite of the whole year.  I just love how this one turned out.

Using a Dustin Pike image.

I love sunflowers, and this Fred She Said set is just beautiful.

Beccy Muir created this amazing birdhouse.  It was one of the first cards that added all those flowers to.

This is one of my first tries at Gothic art.  Terri's image is just beautiful.

This was my design team call entry for Kenny K.

Using the same image from Delicious Doodles as I did previously shows the versatility of Teri's images.

My first Gothic inspired altered project.  I joined the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged this year and this was one of the projects.

A wonderful image from Rick St. Dennis.  His images are so fun.

QKR Design Team entry during October

This beautiful little girl is a QKR Design Team entry that you will see next week, but I just love it and since I created it in 2013, I wanted to showcase it.

Thank you for taking this trip down memory lane with me.  There are tons more cards that I love and have enjoyed making, but I didn't want to burn out your retinas.  I look forward to seeing each and every one of you in the new year and being able to showcase my work for another year.  Thank you for being my followers.  I have made it almost up to 100.  I'm very humbled that I have that many people interested in my work.  I truly appreciate all the wonderful comments y'all have left for me during this past year and I look forward to seeing alot more.  I love reading them.  My New Year's wish for all my friends in blog land is:
May you always have sunshine in your face, food on your table, clothes on your back, a roof over your head, family and friends surrounding you, enough faith to sustain you, and may your crafting always make you happy.

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas

Today is Christmas Eve and I just want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This time of year is pretty bittersweet for me.  This is the first year without my Dad.  After losing him in May to cancer, I didn't foresee how this would affect me come Christmas.  My Dad and I didn't always have the greatest of relationships, but I loved him.  I really miss him.

Grandpa Grizzly was an amazing man.  He was a truck driver for years and years.  I didn't really pay attention to him being gone for years because my grandparents raised me so I didn't see him for every day.  The year I realized that my dad wasn't always around was when I was 7.  I had to have my tonsils out and was in the hospital.  Back then, it wasn't an in and out operation.  You spent a few days in the hospital after your surgery.  I wanted to see my dad and my aunt said she wouldn't call him for me until I swallowed a piece of ice.  I was crying because of the pain, but I made myself do it so that I could see my dad.  When my dad finally made it to the hospital, he walked in with this huge stuffed Oscar the Grouch.  Oscar was always my favorite on Sesame Street.  I had that thing for years and years.  I'm not even sure what happened to it.

My daughter really misses Grandpa Grizzly.  He always picked on her.  He loved her more than anything.  She is his only grandchild.  It was tough going when I first found out I was pregnant.  Daddy knew how much trouble I had getting pregnant and he was worried and scared for me.  He made some comments to me that he later apologized for, but when he laid eyes on her for the first time in the hospital, this big, strapping, redneck truck driver cried like a baby.  He was in love from first sight.  I have a picture of Kierstynne at 5 days old, in my daddy's arms sitting in his 18 wheeler.

I really miss my daddy.  But, he's not the only one. Both of my grandfathers, Walter J. Ferrell and Leonard Brooks,  my maternal grandmother, Dorothy Brooks, my first husband, James Michael Lambrecht, and numerous uncles and aunts are spending this Christmas in Heaven.  My family misses them, but we also know that they are in a better place.

I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  If there are any of your special loved ones who will be spending Christmas in Heaven this year, I would love to hear a story or stories about them.  Feel free to leave a comment telling me about them.

Merry Christmas from Tim, Emily, Kierstynne and                                 Bully Thubbron

12 Days of Creepmas Day 12

Welcome to my blog and the last post for the 12 Days of Creepmas.  It's rather bittersweet that this is the last post for this holiday blog hop.  Now I have wait a whole year to do another.  I sure hope y'all have enjoyed these last twelve days of beautiful projects created by our Jolly Bloggers.  Also, a big thank you to Terra and Tori for all their hard work in putting this together.

Today, I finally get to use a Smeared and Smudged stamp.  I received my first shipment a few weeks ago, from the Smeared and Smudged Rubber Stamp Club.  I am using three of the images from the Dark Holidaze set by Rick St. Dennis.

I began by stamping all three images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I masked off the bottoms of each image and stamped some snow drifts.  I colored these images with Crayola colored pencils and Gamsol as well as a couple of BIC Markers. I then inked the whole thing with DI Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo to age it.  The papers are from Harper's Bazaar and Luca and Lola from the Paper Studio.  I should have added a sentiment but I forgot. :)

I sure hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I will continue to be posting different projects for my design teams.  I do have an announcement.  I have been selected to be part of three new teams beginning in January.  Open Minded Crafting, Clear it Out Challenges, and I am part of the Core 4 at Kenny K's.  How exciting is my new year going to be?  Stay tuned for some great DT examples. :)

Melonheadz Friends Monda

Happy Monday!  Today is the start of Melonheadz Friends new challenge.  This is our last challenge for this year.  This is sad, but I am looking forward to 2014 and all the wonderful things this new year is going to bring.

Our challenge is: Anything Goes.  I always love these challenges.

I chose to use the "Pink Pirate" Bundle from Nikki's store.  I colored all the images with my BIC Markers and fussy cut everything out.  I used a black sharpie to go around all the edges to hide the white edges. I added some glitter gel pen in Clear Star for some glitter...a girl has to bling it up, right?  I used three different papers from Recollections All Girl stack. The Black card stock is from Recollections and some of the images are adhered using pop dots.  The sentiment is from a Studio G stamp, inked up in Primrose Petals SU ink.

I hope y'all like this cute little pirate.  I am going to save this card for my daughter's birthday in May. She loves pink and black, so she will like it.  Maybe I'll see one of your cards entered into the new challenge this week.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  God bless y'all.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge--Tartan or Check

Mondays with Digi Darla

Good Morning.  Can you believe that today is the day before Christmas Eve?  Man, it's crazy.  I still have some shopping to do, so that's what I will be doing this evening.

Since today is Monday, that means a new challenge at Digi Darla.  Our challenge this week is an Anything Goes challenge.  These are always fun because we never know what we are going to see in the entries.

For my card, I used an adorable penguin.
Told y'all he was adorable.  I colored him with BIC Markers.  I used a Spellbinder's Hexagon die to cut him out.  I added some black faux stitching around the edges.  The papers are all from the Santa and Friends 6x6  paper stack from The Paper Studio.  I added some snowflakes from a Recollections pack.  The card stock is a light blue from Recollections.

I hope y'all like my little penguin.  I hope you will decide to enter the new Digi Darla challenge.

I pray that each and every one of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  God bless y'all.

Day 11 of the 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog.  We are on the Christmas countdown here at my house.  My daughter has finished her Christmas shopping and has all her presents wrapped and under the tree.  I am not finished shopping, nor do I have anything wrapped yet.  I do have all my cards made and ready to be dropped in the mail..yeah, they are going to be late :) and I have finished all my hand made Christmas presents.  I will be posting pictures after Christmas because my mom and my mil both read my blog and I don't want the surprise to be revealed.

For today's card, I have used an Ike's Image.  I just Suzy's images.  She's so creative.

I was feeling not so Christmasy when I made this card.  I have been feeling this way for the past few weeks.  And now, I have been diagnosed with Shingles.  I am in lots of pain but I am pushing through.

I used some papers from the Harper's Bazaar paper pad from The Paper Studio to make this card.  I used my Crayola's to color in this chick.  The sentiment is mine and the card stock is Recollections and GP.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great day.  Make sure to stop in on Monday for the final card in the Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop.  I have received my first set of rubber stamps from the club and I am going to use it to be able to participate in Smeared Ink Day.  Stay tuned.

Day 10 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Good Morning!  Welcome to Day 10.  Can you believe it's less than a week 'til Christmas?  Where did this year go?  Man, it seems to older I get, the faster time flies...And I wan't having fun the whole time..LOL.

Today's card features an image from Jade Draggone.  I think she's kinda cute in a twisted way.  She was intentionally designed for Halloween, but just as most of the images I have used along this hop, I made her into a Creepmas image.

I printed off my image onto Neenah Solar White card stock and colored with Crayolas and OMS.  After trimming down the image and inking her with Memento Lady Bug ink, I matted her onto a piece of Red card stock from Recollections. The card base is GP card stock.  The sentiment is from my computer and the papers are from MME.  I added two little candy canes from Jolie's to finish off the card.

Thank so much for all the great comments y'all have left me so far along this hop.  It still always surprises me when I log onto my blog and see that I have so many.  I hope y'all will continue along the blog roll that is listed on the right side of this post.  I will be back on Saturday with another card.  Have a great day!

Surprise Results

Hello there.  I am writing this post to let you guys know what I think of a product that I bought recently and surprisingly very pleased.

As most of you who follow my blog know, I am a colored pencil fanatic.  I'm learning to use my markers, like Spectrum Noir and Copic, but I usually turn to my Crayola colored pencils when coloring an image.  Since I began coloring images, I have been using an Odorless Mineral Spirits that I buy at Wal-mart.  It works well.  I have been pleased with it since I began using it.  I didn't see the need to search for an alternative.

I love to watch Gina K  and her videos on coloring. She uses a product called Gamsol.  It's also an odorless mineral spirit.  I didn't think there was any need to buy the pricey OMS when I had my trusty stand by from Wally world.

The other week, I was in Hobby Lobby and was looking at the Prismacolor Colored Pencils sets, which by the way I am dying for a set, and happened to spy a small bottle of Gamsol for $4.99.  I thought to myself, "Self, why not buy it and see what you think." So, I did.

Well, I finally got a chance to use it last night and to my surprise, I LOVE it.  It is much, much smoother than the OMS I have bought a Wal-mart.  It blends much more even and alot easier.  It also doesn't take as much to blend the lines evenly.  You also don't have to press as hard with your paper stump to get the colors to blend.

So, my take on Gamsol?  I will definitely spend the money to buy it.  I figure, spending $12 for a larger container of Gamsol verses $6 for the bottle of OMS from Wal-mart is worth it.  Especially since it takes less to color and image.  I think it would be worth it in the long run to spend the little bit of extra.

If you guys have tried Gamsol, or use it on a regular basis, please leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts on it.  I would love to read them.

Day 9 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Howdy!  Welcome to Day 9 of the Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop.  As usual, the blog roll is posted to the right of this post and if you need a refresher of the rules, prizes and winners, please hop over to Terra's blog (First on the list) and check them out.

For today's project, I have created a card.  Shocking right? :)

Isn't he cute?  He is an image drawn by Vince Ballard.  He is a great artist with some fantabulous images.  I colored this guy with Crayola colored pencils and added a bit of glitter gel pen.  The patterend papers are from The Paper Studio.  I used Recollections card stock for the base and the mats. The sentiment is from my computer.  I did ink the edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

Make sure to hop on through the blog roll to see some amazing projects.  Stay tuned for Day 10 on Thursday.  Have a very creeptastic day.

Digi Darla Challenge # 93

Hello there my friends.  Today is Monday and  that means a new challenge at Digi Darla.  Our challenge this week is "Use Felt or Wool."  You can use felt or wool in any way, shape or form as long as it's visible and recognizable on your project.

I had these cute little felt cupcakes sitting on my desk just waiting for a project.  They looked a little naked so I cut a piece of card stock and scored it with my score board to look like a cupcake paper wrapper.

I know it's Christmas time, but we all need Birthday cards all year, right?  I used two papers from The Paper Studio and the card stock is Colorbok.  The sentiment is from Digi Darla.

I hope that you will think about joining us for this challenge.  I would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate the time y'all take to stop by my blog.  God bless!

Day 8 of the 12 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop

Well, we are three-fourths of the way through our hop.  It's been fun so far, but now I have a stack of off the wall Christmas cards with no one to send them too. My family and most of my friends would not appreciate my dark sense of humor that I have found being part of the Smeared and Smudged group.  I didn't even know I had a dark side.  I'm liking my dark side, but my light side is still shining brightly.

Today's card uses another  image from Jade Draggone.  This is a Halloween image, but coloring her dress and hat with Christmas colors makes it very versatile.

I tried to find a font that looked like it had bites out of because of her pet rat, but this is the closest I could get.  I used my BIC Markers for color in this image and added some touches of Sakura Glitter pens, too.  The papers are from MME and I used a Dark Red card stock from Recollections for the card base.  The flowers are made from small circles of satin held over a candle flame to melt and curl them.  I added a gem-encrusted star for the centers.

I hope y'all liked my offering for today.  Now go on over to Black Dragon's blog and she what her wonderfully creative mind has come up with for today.  Have a great day and God bless.

Saturday at Paper A La Mode

Good Morning, peeps.  Today is Saturday and that means a new challenge over at Paper A La Mode.  Last week's challenge, "Last Minute Christmas Cards" was a complete success.  We saw some amazingly beautiful cards.

This week our new challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge and our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis.  The Design Team used Rick's images to create their cards, but you don't have to.  We love to see them though.  The winner of this week's challenge will win 2 images of their choice from Rick's zibbet store.

I used "1890's Holiday Gown" image to create my card.

I used my Crayola's and OMS to color in this beautiful lady.  I added some Sakura Glitter pen to the image to give her some sparkle.  The papers are from a DCWV stack from last year.  Using a vertical sentiment is a bit different for me.  I added a Prima bauble to the bottom of the sentiment and then added a Dark Red swirl to cover up the hole from adding the charm.  The card base is a very Dark Red from Recollections.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope that maybe y'all will take a minute and stop by Paper A La Mode and enter a project.  We would love to see it.

Have a wonderful day and God bless!

Our Family Christmas Card

Hello friends.  I wanted to share with y'all a very different Christmas card.  I wanted something different for our family this year.  Something that represents our family in a different light.  I tried to come up with something that would reflect all three of our personalities.  What did I come up you ask?

Yep, that's right..a card reminiscent of Duck Dynasty.  All three of us absolutely love that show. Si is Kierstynne's favorite.  I like Jase and Willy and Tim likes Phil.  Of course, we all love Miss Kay.

I have to admit that I didn't come up with the tree idea.  I watched a video on YouTube by Kristina Werner showing how she made fingerprint trees.  I just took it a step farther and made it a camouflage tree and cut it out with pinking shears instead of doing it on a white card base.  Kierstynne helped me with the inking.  It took quite a while to get them all done.  For the background, I ran pieces of brown Recollection card stock through my Cuttlebug using a Darice Wood Grained EF.  I cut down some camouflage paper and added to the left side.  I used pop dots on the tree and start.  The sentiment is printed out from my Word Processing program.  I didnt' want to add too many embellishments to it because even though us rednecks like bling, the Duck Dynasty crew is kinda plain.

I hope y'all get a kick out of this card as do the recipients of our card this Christmas.  Have a wonderful day and God bless!

New Challenge at QKR Stampede

Happy Friday, peeps.   Thanks for stopping by today.  It's cold here..very cold.  If you are looking for Day 7 of the Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas post, just scroll down a bit.  It's right below this post. :)

Today begins a new challenge at QKR Stampede. Our new challenge is " 3 Favorite Embellishments."
We want to see either 3 of your favorite embellies or your three favorite embellies.  Flowers are my favorite embellies, so this is what I created with the "Peace Angel" image:

I used some Colorbok card stock, DCWV papers and my Recollections flowers.  I added a little white feather behind the flowers because I think Angel's wings are feathers.  Who knows for sure, right?  I colored her with my Crayola's and rounded all the edges.  I also added some Sakura glitter pens to the stars.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all will enter our new challenge this week.  God bless y'all.

Day 7 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome back to my blog for Day 7 of our Creepmas Hop.  For all the details of the hop, please hop on over to see Terra's blog.  For the duration of this hop, the blog roll will be posted on the right of this blog.  There have been some wonderful creations so far along this hop.  I want to thank each of you for the great comments y'all have been leaving for me, too.  I love reading them.

For today's offering, I have a card made with a Jade Draggone image.  I just love her artwork.  It's funky and creative.

After printing out the image on Neenah card stock, I used my BIC Markers to color it.  I trimmed it, rounded the corners and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo.  The card base is made from Neenah and the  mats are Co-ordinations Dark Blue.  Both patterned papers are from DCWV Winter Basics 6x6 pad.  Adding three large blue gems finished off this card.

Thanks so much for hopping by to see me.  The next stop along the way Black Dragon's blog.  She's an amazing artist.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Melonheadz Friends Christmas Challenge

Hello my crafty friends.  I am a bit late posting this card.  I should have had it up on Monday, but I awoke with a migraine and didn't do anything.  That, of course, put me way behind on everything.

This fortnight challenge at Melonheadz Friends is a "Christmas Challenge".  Create anything with a Christmas theme.

Just a quick reminder of our rules - you are not required to use an image from MELONHEADZ ETSY SHOP, but if you do, you can enter as many times as you like and your theme will be anything goes.  If you choose not to use an image from Melonheadz, that is fine too, but then you must follow the challenge theme and are allowed 2 entries per person.

I chose to use a precolored digi set for this card.  I used

the "Gingerbread" set.

I printed out the images on Neenah Solar White card

stock and fussy cut them out.  I used two patterned

papers from DCWV, gems from Queen and Co.  and a

ribbon bow from my stash.  The card base is an Olive

Green from Colorbok.

I hope that we will see y'all for this wide open

challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope y'all have a

great day.  God bless.

Day 6 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Hello there!  I hope y'all are having a great time during this wonderful blog hop.  I sure hope y'all are going through all the blogs so that you don't miss any of the wonderful projects being created for your viewing pleasure.

Terra has all the deets on her blog and you can find the entire blog roll on the right side of this post.

For today's project, I have created another card using an image from Anji's Antics.

You always see this sentiment on Christmas cards and it seems that everyone sends this type of card. Well, I had to creep it up a bit.  My house is decorated with reds and greens and ready for Christmas even if it is a bit creepy.  It's been cold here in NE PA so the pumpkin on the porch has stayed nice a fresh.  LOL.  I used some papers from MME to make this card and used a card base made from SU Crumb Cake.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I have say that I have been really enjoying reading the comments that you guys have been leaving.  Keep them coming.  I value every one that I get and it makes me feel special that y'all have taken time out of your day to come see my blog.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Day 5 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to Day 5.  Have y'all been hopping along the blog roll and seeing all these amazing creations? Aren't they spectacular?  We have some amazingly talented people posting projects.

If you need the list, I have posted it for the duration of this hop on the right hand side of my blog.  Make sure to stop in and see Terra also for the deets.

Today I have a kinda romantic Christmas Creepmas card.  I used and image from Crafty Moments Cardmaking.  Vince is an amazing artist and has designed some fantastic digis.

Isn't this just the sweetest couple.  LOL.  I found these two beautiful Christmas papers in my stash. Where, oh where had these beauts been hiding.  I think they have a vintage, romantic feel to them.  I printed the image on Neenah card stock and colored them with Crayolas.  I'm still hoping for Prismas for Christmas.  I inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo and matted it onto some Dark Green Recollections card stock.  I printed out the sentiment and used the same ink and card stock to match the image.

I really like the way it turned out and I hope y'all do too.  Have a great day and I'll be back on the 11th with another Creepmas card.  Have a creeptastic day!

Monday at Melonheadz

Good Morning, friends.  I hope y'all enjoyed your weekend.  It snowed here Friday night and my hubby hurt his back at work, so he has been taking it easy all weekend.  Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

Monday's mean a new challenge at Melonheadz Friends.  Our challenges are bi-weekly so you have extra time to get a project in.  Our challenge this week is "Christmas".  I used the Gingerbread Babies set to make my card.  You can purchase this set in either color or black and white Here, in Nikk's Etsy shop.

I haven't put a sentiment on this yet, as I haven't decided whom I am sending it to.  I fussy cut out the people and the house and used foam tape to adhere to the card which has been layered with DCWV paper.  Adding some red gems and an Old Olive ribbon finished off this sweet card.

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I pray everyone has a great day.  Enjoy your last few days before Christmas.  God bless y'all.

Marvelous Monday with Digi Darla

Hello there, friends.  Today is Monday and that means the start of a new challenge over at Digi Darla.  Our last challenge, The Holly Copy Cat image, brought in some beautiful creations.  Our winner of 5 images from the store is:
BASTELARENA

Congrats, Bastelarena.  This is an amazing little tag.  Make sure you contact Denise to claim your prize.

Our new challenge is "SNOWMEN OR SANTA".  That gives you quite a range of items to choose from.  There are so many different styles of Santa's and Snowmen out there.
The winner, chosen by Random.org, will win 5 images from the store as long as use a Digi Darla image.

I chose to use Snowmen as my basis.  Here's what I came up with:

I colored this cute snowman with BIC Markers and Sakura Glitter gel pens.  I used Labels 10 from Spellbinders to die cut the snowman.  I cut a red label of the same size and off set the image.  I used two pieces of patterned paper from K & Co's Mod Holiday stack.  The snowflakes are punches that I colored with a gold metallic pen so that they would match the gold on the snowman's scarf and hat.  Before adhering the background paper, I ran it through a Darice EF called Corner Swirls.  Adding some gems to the center of the snowflakes and printing out the sentiment finished off the card.

I hope y'all have enjoyed this sweet card.  I hope to see some of y'alls cards in our challenge this week.  Have a wonderful Monday and God bless y'all.

From the Heart Progressive Image Challenge

Good Morning.  Thank you for stopping by little area of blog land.  I appreciate the time you take to stop and see what I have been creating.

The card I have for y'all today uses an image by Faith at From the Heart.  You have your choice this month of what image you would like to use.  If you played along with the challenge in November, you should have received an email enabling you to pick which image you wanted.  If you didn't play along, you can go the From the Heart store and if you buy $10 worth of products, you can receive it for free.  The two images you have to choose from are:
Christmas Digital Stamp                              Christmas Digital Stamp

Aren't they cute?  The first one is Candy Cane Anneke and the second one is  For the Birds.

I chose Anneke and this is the card I created:

I decided to color her dress and hat green so that it wouldn't overpower the candy cane.  I used my Crayola colored pencils and OMS to color Anneka.  The patterned papers are from MME.  I used a Tim Holtz die to cut out three rolled ribbon flowers using pieces of the same patterned paper and a piece of the Red Recollections card stock also used on the card.  I added some leaves from my stash and a cute little bauble charm from Prima.  I added some Evergreen Stickles to the center of the roses.  All of the fur parts of Anneke's hat, dress and boots were done with Deco Art's Glistening Snow Writer.  Mine has gotten a bit thick and will no longer come out of the tip so I used a tooth pick to place it where I wanted it.  It's not quite as dimensional as I would like it, but it gives the fur quite a bit of sparkle.

I hope y'all will give From the Heart's December challenge a try.  Everyone is a winner if they play along Faith's monthly progressive challenge.

Challenge I am entering this card in:
Shopping Our Stash--Holiday/Winter
Through the Craft Room Door--anything goes
Penny's Challenges--Tic Tac Toe (I used the bottom row)

Day 4 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared and Smudged.  Terra and Tori have been at it again.  They works so hard.  Make sure to stop by Terra's blog and leave her some love.

For today's project, I have made a card using a cute little Frankenstein.  Who says Frankie has to be strictly for Halloween?

I printed out the image onto Neenah Solar White card stock and inked around the edges with DI Vintage Photo.  I found this santa hat on my computer and enlarged it enough to fit Frankie.  The sentiment is mine.  I used two pattered papers from The Paper Studio and card stock from Recollections to complete the card.  Those little presents are from a sticker pack that I picked up a few years ago at Walmart and the sparkly red snowflake is from Christmas last year at Michael's.

I hope y'all have enjoyed this little creepmas card and make sure to visit all the blogs on the right side of this post to see some amazing creations.  I'll be back on the 9th for Day 5.

Super Saturday with Paper A La Mode

Good morning, friends.  Today is Saturday and that means the start of a new challenge over at Paper A La Mode.  Last week's challenge brought in some beautiful cards.  Thank you to all the ladies who participated.

This week, our challenge is "Last Minute Christmas Cards".  We all need those, right.  So, of course, I waited until the last minute to make mine.  Like that is a shocker, right?

I want to apologize for the glare on the sentiment.  I tried four different times to photograph it without the glare, but it just didn't work.  The sentiment actually says, "Warm Christmas Wishes".  I found these cute little woodland, felt creatures at Hobby Lobby during their fall sale for $1.  There were two racoons and two foxes in the package and I just couldn't resist them.  I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I had to have them.  I decided they would make a cute Christmas card for my cousin who loves the woods and hunting. Not that he hunts fox and racoon, mind ya.

The background papers are from MME Christmas pack from last year.  I used a white Coordinations card stock for the base and the red strip is Recollections card stock.  I used Lacey Circles from Spellbinders to create the circle out of Green Recollections card stock.

It was a quick, last minute card, so it fits the challenge wonderfully.  I hope that maybe y'all will find your way to Paper A La Mode an show us what you can create at the last minute.  Have a wonderful Saturday and God bless.

Pink in Paris

Hello again, my friends.  I have a quick post to show off a card I made for my niece's 11th birthday party Saturday.  Her birthday theme this year is "Paris".

My sister-in-law called me earlier this week and asked me to try and find a game or two for the girls to play at her party.  I spent over 4 hours searching online to try and find some Parisian games for them to play.  I couldn't find anything other than matching up the French word with the English word or famous people and places of France. I knew those wouldn't work so I wracked my brain and the only thing I could come up with was Pin the Tail on the Poodle.  Yeah, kinda childish right?  Well, when my SIL told my niece what I had found, she was absolutely thrilled.  I couldn't believe it.  She actually wants to play this game.  Yeah auntie..lol  So, I Googled "Digital Images of Poodles" and let me tell you, you had better be prepared for what comes up. I was totally shocked at some of the images that were displayed.  X-rated for sure.  Be careful what you Google.  So, I looked through some of the digital stamp companies and found this cute little image from Meljen's.

This is the card I made for Trinity.  I used Recollections All Girl paper pad for the DP and added some black pearls.  The sentiment is my own and I used my Crayolas to color it in.  I used Coordinations card stock for the mats and the card base.  For the game, I enlarged the image to 8x11 and printed it out onto white card stock and pink card stock.  I cut around all the areas that are pink on the card and paper pieced them onto the game board.  I then cut out some black tail poms and numbered them for the girls.  I can't wait to see them play it.  Being as large as it is, if Trinity decides to keep it, she can frame it and hang it on her wall.

Here's a picture of the game board:
I sure hope they have a great time playing tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great day!  God bless y'all.

QKR Stampede Fridays

TGIF...It's  Friday again.  Only 19 more days until Christmas.  Can you believe how fast it's coming.  I swear it was just Christmas 2012 last week.  Man, it seems the older I get, the faster the time goes.  So, with it being Friday, that means another new challenge at QKR Stampede.  We have had some great challenges this month so far, and this new one is no exception.  What is the challenge, you ask?  Well, it's:  WHITE ON WHITE with a touch of red or green.

Let's see what I have for y'all today:

I made this 6x6 card base with Colorbok white card stock.  I used a Darice Corner Swirl EF for the texture.  The strip of DP is from K & Co.'s Mod Christmas 6x12 paper pad.  I colored this tired looking Santa with Crayola colored pencils and OMS.  I used two different color reds on him so that your could see his bag of goodies a bit.  I tore apart a cotton ball for all the fur and his beard.  I just applied some Scotch Quik Dry glue to the spots and added the cotton.  I did add a touch of sparkle to the dots that the embossing folder left with a Sakura Glitter Gel pen in Clear Star.

I hope y'all will consider joining our challenge this week.  We'd love to see what y'all create.  Have a wonderful weekend and God bless.

Day 3 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Hello my Merry Hoppers and Jolly Bloggers.  So glad you guys stopped in today.  As always, the blog roll is posted to the right of this post and you can find all the deets on Terra's Blog.

Today I have a card that features a Delicious Doodles image.

I used my trusty Crayola's to color in this little Emo girl.  I trimmed down the image and inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo.  I used three papers from DCWV and some Green Recollections card stock.  I printed the sentiment from my computer. Adding some gems and some small snowflake punches finished up this card.

Thanks so much for all the great comments y'all have left for me.  I truly appreciate it.  Now, get hoppin'. :)

Have a wonderfully creeptastic day.  God bless.

Day 2---12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome back to the 2nd day of the 12 Days of Creepmas.  Did you guys see all the wonderful projects from Sunday?  Wowza.  I sure missed all the great projects from the 31 Days of Halloween, but I'm getting my fix now.

If y'all just happened to stumble upon my blog, make sure you go back to the beginning and visit Terra's blog for all the information.  You will find the entire blog roll as well as the scheduled blog post days to the right of this post.

I started this blog with a classic....Poe.  Today, I thought I would do a funny, off center card.

When I saw this image, I had to laugh.  I can just picture some poor father, trying to liven up Christmas for his children getting stuck in the chimney.  The image, one I found for free on the web, had a sentiment on it, but I wanted to change it.  I fussy cut the image out after coloring it with BIC Markers.  I used a speech bubble from DS4J and wrote the sentiment.  The papers are from DCWV and The Paper Studio.  The green card stock is Recollections and the card base is GP from Walmart.  I used a die cut that a friend of mine sent me and added two gold brads.

I hope y'all enjoyed this card and that it made you giggle just a bit.  Stay tuned for Thursday's card. Have a wonderful day and God bless y'all.
