Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #12 Midway Post

Challenge #12 - Something With Wings - Midway post

Good morning fellow crafters!! And welcome to the Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge Blog!!

Challenge #12 is all about Things With Wings!! It's time to break out those things that take flight and get creating!! We can't wait to see!! You guys are all amazing each and every challenge!!

Aurora Wings
Prize: $20 Gift Certificate
Aurora Wings is owned by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff. She is originally from Japan, Mitzi is an amazing illustrator based in Colorado. Her images are so diverse and fun! We love how she explains her name on Etsy.. here is what she says: "A fantasy artist with a funny-looking last name. The first part of my last name is Japanese while the second part is Danish with the W pronounced as a V and the two 'f's being silent. *confusing* It sounds just like 'view', actually." "The digital section is the fastest gorwing section in my Etsy shop. Having been denied coloring books I craved as a child (My mother cited some "experts" saying that coloring books hindered a child's creativity with pre-made lines...), I totally understand the joy and fun of coloring (It's my favorite phase of illustration work, too!), and it's a delight for me to be able to share my line work with colorists & crafters out there through my digi's."

Flat Friends Boutique
Prize: 4 Images
Flat Friends artist is Emma! And Emma is based out of the UK. She creates all of the wonderful art you see at Flat Friends Boutique! You can find Flat Friends Boutique at her Etsy Store, on her very own Challenge Blog and also at Polkadoodles! Her Challenge Blog has a new challenge every month starting on the 1st! You can have fun joining in there as well!! Be sure to go see what fun creations Emma has for all of us!! Thanks so much for sponsoring with us!!

KennyK Designs
Prize: 3 Images
"The creator, the artist, the man: KennyK wielded a mean crayon during his formative years in the Bronx, developing his signature funky-but-slick, urban-influenced style - and over the years has completed countless assignments for many of the biggest ad agencies and corporate clients in the business. His work runs the gamut from big-budget advertising campaigns and promotions, editorial illustrations, toy/game and product packaging, to sexy pinup babes, anime and retro character designs, comic books, computer games, t-shirts and sticker designs and Flash animation - all that fun stuff." - Elena

QKR Stampede
Prize: 5 Images
Do you have a sense of humor? Are you looking for a cute stamp? Then, we are the company for you! QKR Stampede is the somewhat cute somewhat quirky rubber and digital stamp company. We showcase the artwork of Ken Herrod, who had a unique, somewhat quirky style with lots of humor and character. You are sure to get a chuckle out of our stamps! We have been offering our unique stamps and supplies to the craft industry for over 15 years. At QKR Stampede our images are available as un-mounted, natural red rubber stamps OR as digital stamps! If QKR Stampede Stamps aren't exactly what you are looking for, don’t miss out on the sister companies: Eureka Stamps, Biblical Impressions Rubber Stamps, or the newest addition; Alluring Impressions.

I chose to use a Kenny K image to make my card for the midway challenge.  This is Riot Rachel:

I found this quote on the internet and thought it fit the card perfectly.
Thank you for stopping by today.  You still have another week to get your entry into the challenge.  I hope to see you there.

Jellypark Post Pals

Hello everyone.  I have found a new site that allows us to send cards to children in the UK who are either in the hospital or very sick.  These children love to get posts to open and packages full of goodies.

Here's the link to the Post Pals website: Post Pals  Please read the rules before linking to Jellypark's FB Page here.

Here's the deal:  You will get 5 images from Jellypark to make the cards.  You are also welcome to use any images you'd like.  Make one card, post a picture of it on the FB page for Jellypark and then you will receive your next image. Simple right?

I have made two cards so far.  The first one uses a stamp set from Hero Arts:
This pretty princess card is going to Ella C.  She has Cronic Renal Failure and is almost 7 years old.

This second one is my first image from Jellypark.  Isn't this such a sweet image?
This cutie is going to Hannah P and she suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome FSGS. She will be 7 in December.

Each child on this list has to deal with more than any child should have to. They have families that suffer right along with them.  Won't you think about joining our club on Jellypark's FB page and send some smiles to some very deserving kids.

MFP's Simple Salutations Challenge # 101

Good Morning.  It's Wednesday, only a few more days left of school and then SUMMER BREAK!!! I can't wait.

Today begins our new challenge for the week at Simple Salutations and our theme this week is: Father's Day.  Pretty fitting, right, since Sunday is Father's Day.

I used two different stamp sets to create this card.  The gears and the sentiment "Gear Up" are from the Gear Up stamp set and the wood background and sentiment are from the Plywood stamp set.  Both of these are new arrivals in the store. And, both of these stamps are nicely sized background stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a wonderful day and God bless.

If you have any questions about how I made this card, please feel free to contact me.
Welcome to another wonderful challenge at Digital Stamps 4 Joy.  We are glad to have you join us.  The theme for this challenge is "FLOWERS".

We would prefer for you to use a DS4J image from the store, but this is not necessary. However, to win the DTs Choice prize you WILL need to use a DS4J digi. Remember to link your projects in the linky below.
Don't forget you MUST use a digital stamp or rubber stamp!

There are tons of Flowersimages in the Digistamps4Joy Store

I created my card with the Heart of Roses image.  The roses are handmade and the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers.

Thank you for joining us today.  I hope y'all have a great day and God bless.

If you have any questions about my card, please feel free to contact me.

Sketch with a Twist #102

Welcome to this week's Sketch With a Twist Challenge #102!
The SWAT Design Team members are Cheryl, Christine, Emily, Pam, and Vickie.  We look forward to seeing your weekly creations!
This week we are offering this stamp, Oopsy Daisy, to one lucky participant.
Here's your sketch for this week:

The TWIST is to create a card for a child using this sketch.
You can flip, rotate, or make it square to make it work for your card.
Please read the Challenge Guideline Rules found HERE.
You have until 9:00 p.m. EST on June 16, 2014, to get your submission entered to win.  You do not have to use a stamp from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co., to play, but if you do your name will be entered twice in the random drawing for the free stamp from Mark's Finest Papers.  Please remember to link your card back to the SWAT Challenge and mention SpeedyTV and Mark's Finest Papers in your blog or gallery post.  Please no back linking.  Please do not submit the same card for each challenge on MFP SpeedyTV or the MFP Blog.  Each submission should be a different card for each challenge.

I turned the sketch sideways to create my card using the stamp set Fabulous Pets.   I figure most kids I know would get a kick out of this card as long as they know what a vegan is.  My daughter loved and tried to steal it off my desk before I could get it photographed.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I sure do appreciate it.  I hope y'all have a wonderful day.  God bless.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #12

Hello friends.  Today begins the new challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun.  We had a great turn out for the last challenge.  Thanks for playing along.

This challenge runs for two weeks and our theme is "Things with Wings."

We have some great sponsors for this challenge:

I was able to use a new stamp company for this challenge.  I had a hard time picking an image too.  Here's what I made using Aurora Wings.

I wasn't real sure what to do with this image after I chose it.  I stared at it for three days before I finally came up with an idea.  I love the little owls, but for some reason my creative mojo just wasn't mojoing for me.  Finally, thinking about the whole see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil thing it dawned on me that birthdays sometimes make you feel that way, hence the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all  will join us for this great challenge.  Have a wonderful weekend and God bless y'all.

QKR Stampede Challenge #91

TGIF.  It's been a long week.  Only one more week of school.  I'm so done with 4th grade.  I need a break. But, I had Kierstynne's end of the year parent/teacher conference yesterday and she got a really great report. She is being promoted to the 5th grade, she exceeded the benchmark for reading and is doing really well with math.  I'm a proud momma.

Today starts our new challenge over at QKR Stampede.  This week, our challenge theme is  FATHER'S DAY.   It's coming quick, so here's a chance to get those cards made and have a chance to win some new digi stamps.

I'm sorry the picture is so dark.  I'm not sure what happened.  I think my FIL is going to love this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great weekend and God bless y'all.

Penny's Challenge #180

Good morning.  Thanks for joining me today.  Since it's Hump Day, that means we have a new challenge over at Penny's.

Our theme this week is BEAR or MICE.
We also have some great sponsors, including:
Meljen's Designs

Crafty Sentiments

Di's Digi Stamps

I decided to use Benson Bear from Crafty Sentiments for my card today.  Isn't he sweet?   I colored him with my trusty Crayola Colored Pencils and Gamsol.  I die cut the image and sentiment block with my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Classic Ovals.  These papers are old ones from DCWV from probably about 5 years ago.  Adding some ribbon and rhinestones finished up this card.

How about taking a minute or two to stop by Penny's blog and check out some of the other design team's cards this week.

Have a wonderful day and God bless y'all.

Simple Salutations #100

Thank you for stopping by today.  Wednesday brings about a new challenge over at Mark's Finest Paper's Simple Salutations.  Our challenge this week is  BEACH  and here's a look at the stamp you have a chance of winning:
Silly Shells stamp set

I really had to stretch for this card this week because I don't have any beach themed stamps to use yet.  I was only able to use a Mark's Finest paper  sentiment, which is pretty fitting since this is Simple Salutations.

I pulled out some The Stamps of Life stamps and dies to make the actual card and used the sentiment from one of my flower sets  from MFP to  add the sentiment.  And, just to show you how versatile stamps can be, the clouds are actually pieces of popcorn from the Popcorn2stamp set from the Stamps of Life.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I sure hope y'all are having a great day and enjoying this beautiful weather...at least we are having beautiful weather. :) God bless y'all.
