Digital Stamps 4 Joy Challenge #97

Good Morning friends.  Today we have a new challenge starting at Digital Stamps 4 Joy.  This week is going to be a stretch for many of you.  Our theme is BLACK AND WHITE (grey and skin tones allowed). Most of us like color so it's hard to do something plain.  

Our challenge runs from today until Tuesday, August 5th. We would prefer you to use a DS4J image, but it's not mandatory.  If you want to be in the running for the DT Choice prize though, you must use a DS4J image.

I used Misteri-Bride by Jen Leeflang to make my card. If you haven't seen the Misteri collection, please head over to the Shop and check it out along with the other beautiful images there.

I did add a bit of pink to my card because I am using it for a wedding I'm going to on Friday and the colors are pink and black.  I love this cute image.  Adding some flourishes and flowers finished off the card.

Hello friends.  Thanks for joining me today. I completely forgot to blog this card and challenge at Digital Stamps 4 Joy on Wednesday.  Our new challenge is a "Shaped Card" challenge.

I decided to make a side step card for the shape.  I used the image Mom and Girl as my focal.  Adding some papers from Prima and flowers from Recollections finished up the card.

Sending My Love

Howdy y'all.  I'm back with quite a few cards so the posts will be numerous.  I could combine them all, but I don't think y'all would want to read that extended post. ;)

The first card for this evenings show uses a technique I have never tried before...making pinwheels.  They were a bit more difficult that I thought for.  I had a hard time making them stay together.

The image is from Digital Stamps 4 Joy and the sentiment is Designed 2 Delight which is now From the Heart.  Both are printed on Neenah white card stock.  I've been on a colored pencil kick this week so this one followed suit.  I cut out the image and used pop dots to adhere it. 

The card base is  a bright pink from Recollections and it's a step card.  Thanks Beccy Muir, for the template. The DPs are Colorbok and DCWV.  The brads are Recollections and the gems are Queen and CO.

Digital Stamps 4 Joy--#70 Folded Paper Embellishments

Good Morning.  My name is Emily and I am posting as a guest designer for Digital Stamps 4 Joy for this challenge.  I have been doing some sort of craft since I was a child.  Painting ceramics, crocheting, woodworking.  I began scrapbooking about 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter.  I tried my hand at card making about three years ago and I have been hooked ever since.  My photos are piling up just waiting to be scrapped, but I just can't find the time.

The card I made for the Birthday Challenges uses the DS4J stamp, Corset.  I printed off the image on Gina K Heavy Base Weight White card stock and used my BIC markers and AC Chromatix pens to add color to the image.  I then fussy cut the corset out and inked the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo.  

The card base is 5.5" x 5.5" and made from SU Basic Black card stock.  I added a fancy black and white swirled DP from American Crafts as the back ground.  The reverse side of the DP is the black and white polka dots.  I added a 1.5" red sheer ribbon around the card and tied the knot bow.  I used pop dots to adhere the "dress".  I printed the sentiment from my word processing program and matted in on a piece of black card stock.  To finish off the card, I added some red flat back pearls from Queen and Co.  to the corners.
