Day 76

Hi friends.  Today I have a special card.  For those of you who don't know, I homeschool my daughter, Kierstynne.  I love it!  We use a program called Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School which is a combination of homeschool and public school.  Most of her work is on the computer.  Through this school program, we have a group called the Parent Ambassadors.  We help new families who are just coming in to get acclimated to the system and the school.  One of our ladies who is an ambassador was in a serious car accident.  She was hit head on by a another car that swerved into her lane.  She was seriously injured.  She has been transferred from the hospital to the rehab center.  She is doing much better, but still has a long way to go.  Over on SCS, the Teapot Tuesdays group through a Tea Party for her and this is the card that I made for her.

I used a coloring page that I found online for this card.  I colored it to resemble stained glass using colored pencils and OMS. I added a little Sakura Glitter Pen to accent.   I used an embossed background paper that my friend Jan sent me.  The sentiment is a freebie from  www.freedigistamps.com.  Iadded some black and white polk a dot ribbon and tied a bow.  I sure home Brenda likes her card.

Thanks for stoppin'  in today and have a great day.  Blessings my friends.

Day 75--3/4 done!

WOW..I'm at the 3/4th mark.  It's been so much fun.  I have really enjoyed this challenge.  I have saved money, used up product and challenged myself more than I ever have.  It's been a good thing.

Today's card was created for a swap I joined on SCS call TRI-anything.  The only rule was that the cards had to have some type of wheel..anything with wheels.  So, this is what I picked....

Isn't this a sweet image?  Goes right along with my life on a farm.  This stamp is from Gina K Designs and is called  Farm Life.  It's a sweet set that has some beautiful images and sentiments.  I colored this one with colored pencils and OMS, matted it on red and then white, added some gingham red ribbon.  I used a piece of chevron patterened paper from my stash and that's the card.

Thanks again, for stopping in.  Have a blessed day!

Day 74

Hello.  I am udderly excited to bring you this card today.  I grew up on a farm with my grandparents.  We always had lots of animals and crops.  I think I was probably around 10 before I ever realized you could by actual groceries in the store.  Weird right?  The only things I can remember my granny going to the store for were sugar, flour, Crisco, chips and soda.  We had everything else at our fingertips.  We milked the cows daily and once a year we butchered a cow for beef.  We had chickens for eggs and whenever we wanted chicken for dinner, we would go to the barn and get one.  Pigs, we had those too. I even raised a baby pig one year because it was the runt. We butchered one every fall and put it in the smokehouse.  There is nothing that smells better than a smokehouse.  It has a distinct smell and just smells good.  We grew all types of vegetables and worked the gardens daily.  I didn't even know you could buy veggies in a can..lol  Every morning before school I would get up around 5am, go milk, gather eggs, slop the hogs, and feed all the animals.  I could drive a tractor before I could drive a lawn mower.  It was a wonderful childhood with lots of great memories.

So, I decided to make a birthday card using one of my favorite barn yard animals.

Yep, that's right.  I love cows.  They are so cute.  This little stamp is so adorable.  I love the play on words.  I didn't want to do a lot to this card, so I used a die cut someone had sent me, split it in half and attatched half to each side of the matted image.  I used a pink BIC Marker to color in the cows nose and udders.  I used my white gel pen to add faux stitching around the red.

Thanks for stopping in today and learning about a part of my childhood.  I pray you have a blessed day.

Day 73

Hello.  Today I have a little card that I made for our Teapotter's group over on SCS.  This card was sent out to a little boy named Tyler.  He's having a rough time of it, but loves to smile.  This little free digi fit right into the theme of cards.  You can read more about Tyler HERE.

Isn't he cute?  And he's on the trail of some smiles.   I used my colored pencils and added some Glossy Accents on the magnifying glass to make it shine.  I pulled a piece of DP from my stash that was all about adventure.  I printed off the sentiment from my computer using my Microsoft Word Processing program.  I love all the different fonts on that program.

Thanks for taking a look today.  I hope you all have a blessed day.

I fussy cut out the little girl and pop dotted her onto the chalk board.  I printed out the sentiment from my computer.  Don't you just love the little pieces of colored chalk?

Thanks again for stopping in today.  I pray you have a great day!  God bless you.

Day 71

Day 71 already?  Wow.  I can't believe it.  Today's card is a sweet little card using a digi stamp and Nestabilities.  It's color scheme is black and white.  Always a classy combo.

I used the scalloped circle Nestabilities and the classic circles.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background.  The image is a free digi from online and I colored her with colored pencils.  The sentiment was sent to me from the Wish RAK on SCS.

Thanks again for stopping in to visit.  Have a great day and God bless you.

Day 70

Good Morning.  How is everyone today?  Today's card is a purple card.  I just love the color purple.  I did this card for a challenge over on the Outlawz.  It was for the color challenge.  Two shades of purple  and white.  The twist was to add a letter.

I used more than two colors of purple because I just love that color.  I think there are five shades of purple.

Thanks for stopping by today to see this pretty purple card.  Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Day 69

Hey friends.  Have you guys noticed how fast summer went?  It seems to me that it just flew by.  I can't believe we are almost finished our second week of school already.  It seems the older I get, the faster time flies.  We are right around the corner from Halloween.  Our family doesn't go all our to decorate or celebrate Halloween in the traditional way like most people, but I love making Halloween cards.  I love all the little spooky characters and cute pumpkins.  I still remember the first Halloween costume that I got to pick our for myself.  I was about 6 years old and was crazy about Wonder Woman.  My grandmother took me to the store and I found a costume that was Wonder Woman.  Linda Carter was a beautiful woman.  I wanted to be her.  The costume was a plastic slip on suit with the hard plastic mask with eye holes, nose holes and a mouth hole.  Do you guys remember those??  Looking back on them I realize how cheesy they were, but I thought I was hot stuff in my Wonder Woman costume.

Today, we celebrate Halloween with a fun time at church that we call Light the Night.  All the kids come dressed in their costumes.  Our pastor's wife picks a different theme every year.  Last year was story book characters and Kierstynne picked out a cute little cat princess.  The year before it was food.  We found a cute cupcake costume for Kierstynne.  We play games, have a Bible story, and lots of snacks.  Most of the children at our church don't go trick or treating, so people in the church donate tons of candy.  The adults each have a bag of candy and are stationed around the church.  The kids come around to each adult and receive candy.  They keep going around until all the candy is gone.  They end up with a big bag of candy.  It's alot of fun for them and it's safe.    I do let Kierstynne go around to some of the houses here in our neighborhood because everyone knows each other and knew my husband when he was a kid.

So today's card is a Halloween card.  I used the sketch challenge over on the Outlawz and the color challenge on SCS.

Thanks for stopping in today and listening to me ramble about Halloween.  I pray you have a wonderful day and God bless you.

Day 68

Hello there!  How are you today?  I hope everyone is having a good day.  I am just blogging along, trying to get all my cards posted.  I am not a daily blogger.  I wish I were.  I homeschool my daughter, take care of our house, and it seems I always have something on my daily calendar.  So, blogging is a little low on my list ..lol.
Today's card was done for a challenge over on the Outlawz.  I just love that site.  The challenge was a sketch challenge.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this one until I started going through my stash and found this cute little paper.  It worked perfectly for the sketch.  No extra cutting or punching.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

I used the paper with the whole frame intact instead of cutting it apart.   I added some ribbon and card stock and it was finished.  I think this one took me all of 10 minutes after I found the paper.

Thanks so much for stopping in.  You guys have no idea what it means to me to have you  care about my projects.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Have a great day and may God richly bless you.

Day 67

Hi friends.  Today I am cheating a little bit.  I made this card at the beginning of the challenge and forgot to upload it.  I realized it as I was going through my list.  So, even though it is not the 67th card I made, I still made it during the challenge..so it still counts, right?

This card was made with my Cricut and the Sweet Treats cartridge.

I cut out the blackout shape then cut all the little pieces that fit on the sundae.  It looks yummy right?  I added some ric rak I had in my stash to decorate the dish and some yellow striped ribbon for accent.  I inked the edges of the sentiment and it was finished.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Makes me want to run out and get an Ice Cream Sundae from Dairy Queen.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  God bless you.

Day 66

Hi!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I have a cute little House Mouse card for today.  I made this little cutie for the Free for All challenge over on SCS.   We had to make a birthday card and if we included balloons, we got extra points.  Well, I snagged those points with this card.

I used some paper from K&Co for the background and some cs from my stash to make this card.  I used the same sketch that I used on Day 63's card.  I just love this sketch.  I think it may be a go to one from now on.  It's simple, but cute.  I colored it in with colored pencils and OMS.   Added a little ribbon and it was finished.

Thanks for popping in today.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Day 65

Howdy!  I might be alittle behind the times, but guess what I have found that I am in love with???  Digi Stamps..that's right, I'm entering the techno world.  LOL.  I love the feel of the ink, stamps, and the smell of actual rubber stamps.  I will never go totally digi, but I am really diggin' the digis.  I love how you can change the size to fit your project or combine two together.  I am not all that tech savy, but I can figure out some of it.  I have found alot of free ones online and I have used quite a few.  The one I used on today's project has to be one of my favorites.  There is nothing sexier to me that a rugged cowboy.  The fit of the jeans, the cowboy boots, a great Stetson...whew...I need a cold shower..lol   Being from the south, there are lots of cowboys and rednecks.  They are totally different just so you know..:)  Living here in PA, I miss seeing the cowboys walk through Wal-Mart.  It's something you definitely don't see up here.  So, without further ado, my cowboy....

I made this card for the Tuesday's Color Challenge over on the Outlawz.  If you haven't had a chance to go visit them, Colleen has set up a wonderful site.  It's full of challenges with some really great prizes.  I have won two monthly challenges so far.  Talk about shocking.  How cool is that, right?  So, back to the card...I used a striped distressed blue tone background paper.  I colored in my image with colored pencils and OMS.  This seems to be my favorite coloring medium.  I have alcohol pens, but I need to take a class or something..hehe  I matted the image and sentiment, that I printed out, on chocolate brown cs and dark teal cs.  I foam dotted the focal image up and added a cowboy hat that I found in my stash from a pad of HOTP paper.  I inked the edges in Vintage Photo DI and that finished off the card.

I hope you like this rugged cowboy as much as I do.  Thanks for stopping in and have a blessed day.

Day 64

Good Morning again, I just want to thank you guys for stopping in to check out my work.  I truly appreciate all the comments that you guys leave and for those of you who follow me.  We are up to 29 followers, and only need 6 more so that I can give away some candy.  Everyone loves candy right?  So, please get your friends, family, crafting buddies, even your dog to sign up.  LOL.

So today's card is for a challenge over on SCS.  The challenge is to use fabric.  I don't have alot of fabric, other then ribbon, but I did run across a cute paper pack from DCWV that is fabric paper.  I found it on sale at Jo-Ann's and thought I would give it a try.  Well, it's been sitting in my stash for about 8 months because I wasn't sure what to do with it.  Have you guys ever done that?  It looked so neat and felt really cool too and I just had to have it.  Yeah, and I wonder why my stash of paper is equal to a craft store's.  So, this card gave me the perfect opportunity to pull out that paper and get to work.

I used two of the papers and even got really crafty and green and pulled the ribbon off the front of the package and used it here.  I added three cute little butterflies and voila!  I didn't put a sentiment on the front because I didn't was to detract from the softness of the card, so I put it on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I pray blessings on you always.

Thanks so much for stopping in today to take a gander.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

Day 62

Good Morning friends,  today's card is a cute little get well card for a little boy who goes to my church.  Roy is 6 years old and somehow fell out of his bedroom window.  He was being punished and was sent to his room.  The next thing his parents hear is a scream and then crying.  When they found him, he was laying 22 feet down on the ground.  When they rushed him to the hospital, his injuries were so severe, they air flighted him to the children's hospital in Danville, PA.  The doctors didn't expect him to live through the night, but he surprised everyone and pulled through.  He still has a long healing process in front of him as well as more surgeries. God kept His hand on Roy throughout this whole thing.  He does have some cracks in his C4 and C5 vertebrae, but he is wearing a neck brace and seems to be doing just fine.  Roy loves Sponge Bob Squarepants, so I made this cute little card with a Cricut image that I received in a swap.  I hope you like it.

Thank you for stopping by today and I pray God bless you!
