Day 9 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop

So glad to see all of the Horrifying Hoppers.  Are y'all getting tired yet?  I know I'm not.  I can't wait every morning to see what my Wicked Blogger buddies have created.  Remember to stop in and see each one of them..you can get the entire blog roll on the right of this post.  Also, are y'all searching for the hidden images each day?  Make sure to stop by Terra's blog for a list of winners as well as the complete list of rules and sponsors.

Now, on to today's eye candy.  As I have been making my way through the blogs every day, I have been inspired to create some more altered art.  I haven't done but only 4 pieces since I have been scrapbooking and card making, so this makes #4.  It's a wall hanging and my daughter has already called dibs on it.  She wasn't too happy with me because I offered up my Haunted Bird House for a giveaway, but I assured her we would create another one for her room before Halloween, so she was ok with that.

Let me apologize for the darkness of the photo, but i didn't finish this until after 10 pm last night, so I had to use what light I had.  I started with a blank wooden plaque from Wal-mart and painted it flat black.  I used papers from Teresa Collins and American Crafts.  After adhering them to the plaque, I used my Tim Holtz sander and distressed all four edges.  I then inked them with DI Vintage Photo.  Both stamped images are from RSD. (Witch's Cottage and Countess Van Bloot).  I colored them with colored pencils and OMS. On the cottage, I used a gray BIC Marker to add the shadows.  I added some Sakura glitter gel pen to the Countess.  The tree and the bat are from Martha Stewart and are acetate stickers.  The three black flowers are from Wal-mart.

I hope y'all enjoyed your visit today.  Now, get hopping over to Lisa's blog to see what she has in store for ya today.

Day 8 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop

Hello there, Horrifying Hoppers.  So glad to "see" y'all. Today is the 8th day of the hop and I have an exciting project for ya.  I have made a card using a Delicious Doodles image.  I am so in love with these images.  They are sexy, spooky, creepy, and lovely all at the same time..if that's possible.   Let's see what's been created:

This lovely lady is "La Rosa Muerta".  Isn't she gorgeous.  I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers.  All of the papers are from American Crafts and the card stock is Recollections.  Each piece has been inked with DI Vintage Photo.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Spooky and Creepy stamp set.  I dyed three paper roses black using a reinker and then hot glued them on.  I think she turned out pretty well.

Remember to stop by each blog on the roll, which can be found to the right of this post, and leave some love for the other Wicked Bloggers.  And for a complete set of rules, sponsors, and the winners from the Scavenger Hunt, make sure to stop by Terra's blog.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comments that y'all have been leaving for me.  I love them.  There are still three days left to enter my Haunted Bird House giveaway, too.  Now get hopping on over to Lisa's blog for some more eye candy.

Day 7 of 31

Welcome, Horrifying Hoppers,  to Day 7 of our 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop sponsored by Smeared and Smudged.  Can you believe an entire week has gone by already?  Man, time flies when you are having a ball.   Let's see what we have for today's offering..how about a Vampiress?

This beauty is from Cuttlebug Cuties and her name is Alice.  She kinda looks like Alice from the Twilight series don'tcha think?  I used colored pencils and OMS on her and just did some simple matting and layering for this card.  I didn't  want a bunch of elements taking away from how beautiful the image is.  I used a Gold Metallic pen for her goblet.  The sentiment I just printed out from my word processing program.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Remember to stop by Terra's blog for all the rules, sponsors, prizes and of course the winners from yesterday's Scavenger Hunt.  And, for those of you who get lost along the way, the entire blog roll will be posted on the right side all month.

I am going to enter this card into the Card Making' Mama's and V's Sweet Ideas challenges for this month.

Day 6 of 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome back for Day 6 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  Didn't y'all just love the projects from yesterday?  Some truly amazing creations.  Remember, you can find all the Wicked Bloggers to the right of my blog and be sure to check out Terra's Blog for a complete list of rules, sponsors and winners from yesterday's Scavenger Hunt.

Today, I went pretty simple.  I made a card for today's project.

I used an image from Phee McFaddell to create this card.  I must admit, I created this one a few months ago, but I love it and wanted to show it again.  I colored the image with BIC Markers and Sakura Glitter pens.  I added a strip of jeweled ribbon at the bottom, some black flowers and a white and a black feather. Don't they make a cute couple?

OK.  Now that you have seen my project, hop on over to Lisa's Uniquely Odd Blog for another amazing creation.

Remember, if you would like to enter to win the Haunted Bird House, make sure to visit the "Giveaway" post here on my blog and figure out the trivia answer.  Y'all didn't think I was going to make it really easy did ya? :)

And, look who just happened to fly by and land on my blog.....

I am going to enter this project in to the Haunted Design House's #177 Dimensional Halloween.

Howdy folks.  As I mentioned in Friday's post, I am giving away my Haunted Bird House.  If you would like a chance to win it, just post a comment on this post with the answer to the trivia question.  Each person with the correct answer will have their name put into a hat and my daughter will pull one name on October 11th.  You have until October 10th to enter your guess.  Ready???

Clue #1:  I am an author who has had some of my books turned into movies.

Clue #2:  Grace Kelly, Montgomery Cliff, Doris Day and  James Stewart played in some of my movies.

31 Days of Halloween--Day 5

Wow..It's Day 5 already.  Are y'all having a good time making your way through all these fabulous blogs?  I know I am.  It's amazing how creative my blog buddies are.  For the duration of this hop, you can find the entire blog roll on the right side of my blog..just in case you get a bit discombobulated along the way.  For a list of the rules, sponsors and the daily clue for the Scavenger Hunt, please check out Terra's Blog.

Today's project is a 3-D Haunted Birdhouse.  I tried for creepy, but for some reason it came out cute.  I'm not very good at this creepy, dark stuff.  Be ready, because this post is picture heavy.

This first picture is of the front of the bird house.  I bought the bird house for $3 at Wal-mart today.  I painted it a flat black and dry brushed it with white, gold, and harvest orange.  I then went back with a dark gray.

This is the right side (facing the front).  I added some Freaky Fabric to mimic spider webs.  I added quite a few little baby spiders crawling around looking for Mama Spider.

Here we see the back.  I apologize for how dark it is. I tried to lighten up the picture, but it didn't work well.  I added some more spiders here on the back and some red and black flowers.

Here she is..Mama Spider with some of her babies.  I found this spider on sale after Halloween a couple years ago.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but she's glittery.  This is the left side of the bird house (facing the front).

Here's another shot of the front.  The skeleton is a Recollections Stamp and I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut him out, inked him with DI Vintage Photo and glued him on.  The raven on the top is actually two ravens from the Martha Stewart Acetate Die Cut pack from last year.  I pulled the backing off one and stuck it to the other to make it stronger, then cut him out of his background.  He's hot glued on the top.

Here's a close up of the skeleton.  I almost forgot to add a stamped image.  I was almost done with my project when it dawned on my lightening fast mind that I hadn't added a stamped image.

Here are a couple of close ups of the hand and Mama Spider.  You can tell in this picture that she's pretty glittery.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate all the great comments that you Horrifying Hoppers and Sinister Lurkers are leaving.  I am going to give away this Haunted Bird House to one lucky commenter.   If you would like to have this birdhouse for your Halloween collection, stay tuned for my post entitled, "Giveaway" which will be coming this weekend.  I will have a trivia question in the post and everyone who answers correctly will have their name put into a bowl and my daughter will draw one name. I want to make sure that you have this by Halloween so I will leave the contest open until the 10th.  The name will be drawn on the 11th and will be mailed out by the 15th.

Thanks again for stopping by..now get goin'.  There is tons more to see!

31 Days of Halloween--Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop hosted by Smeared and Smudged. I want to thank each of you for stopping by my blog and leaving all the love.  I truly appreciate each comment that is left for me and I do read them all!  For this month long blog of Halloween goodness you will be able to find the blog roll on the right side of my blog. For a complete set of rules, sponsors and the clue to the daily image Scavenger Hunt, please see Terra's Blog.  And while you are there, please leave some love for Terra and Tori for all of their hard work putting this together.

For today's post, I have created a card using one of our sponsors, Delicious Doodles, images.  I just love these images.  I don't do alot of dark, Gothic cards, but I do love Delicious Doodles images.

I made this card into an easel card.  The first picture is from the front and the second is from the side.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir, BIC Markers and Sakura Glitter pens.  I trimmed down the image and matted it onto Red and Black Recollections card stock.  The card base is Black Coordinations card stock.  The patterned papers are American Crafts.  I added some double sided satin ribbon from Hobby Lobby and the spiders are from a pack of Halloween confetti that I found last year at the Dollar General.  I stamped the sentiment, which is from Queen Kat Designs, onto a very light gray card stock from Recollections with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Sakura Glitter pens and BIC Markers.  I used my Martha Stewart mini score board to add some score lines to the sentiment then matted it onto the same Red Recollections card stock.  I used two of the spiders as holders for the easel.

I hope y'all are enjoying the hop and will stick with us all month long for some amazing creations by the talent team of Wicked Bloggers.

Fabulous Friday with QKR Stampede

Happy Friday, y'all.  Today starts a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  Our challenge for this week is  "Fall Colors".  Be sure to check the blog if you entered a card last week to see if you are a winner.

You are probably seeing this here on my blog before it's posted on the QKR blog because Facebook decided to do an upgrade and I couldn't get in to add my card.  Dang FB!

I used Digi #18807 Jack to make my card.  I colored him with colored pencils and OMS.
After coloring this cute little guy, I used my Spellbinders dies and my Cuttlebug to cut the image and the mat. I inked the image with Wild Honey Distress Ink.   I used papers from DCWV and Me and My Big Ideas.  The card stock base is Me and My Big Ideas and the mat is Recollections.  I had a ton of these leaf brads but instead of using them as brads, I took the prongs off and used Glossy Accents to add them the card.  The sentiment is a dollar stamp from Michael's.  I stamped only the sentiment part of the stamp.

I hope y'all will decide to join us for this week's challenge. I would love to see what y'all create.  Have a great day!  God bless.

Day 3

Welcome back to Day 3 of our 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop hosted by Smeared and Smudged.  The complete blog roll can be found on the right side of my blog for the entire month in case you get lost along the way.  For a complete set of rules, please hop over to Terra's Blog.

For today's project, I have a created a cute card.  I thought I would mix it up some this month and do some cute cards as well as some on the darker side.  So without further ado, I give you.....Witch Kitty.

I used an image from the Recollections Stamp set called Halloween for my focal.  Colored pencils and OMS were used on this one.  After coloring, I used my Spellbinders and Cuddlebug to die cut the image.  I inked the edges with DI Vintage Photo and matted it onto a black scalloped circle also cut with Spellbinders.  The patterned papers are DCWV and adding some black gems from Queen and Co finished off this cutie.

Your next stop along the way is Lisa's Blog.  Remember, if you just happened to stumble upon my blog or are a regular reader of my blog, please go back to the beginning so you don't miss anything.  Also remember to keep an eye out for the Scavenger Hunt image for today.  Here's the clue for today's image:

but dead I'm not as you'll soon know.
While eating brains my strength will grow.

Thanks so much for hopping along with us.  Have a great day!

31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop--Day 2

Welcome back to Day 2 of our 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  I hope y'all enjoyed all the wonderful stops along the way yesterday.  I loved looking at all the projects created by the talented artists along the way.  Today I have for y'all a card using "Edith" by Maigan Lynn.  I used colored pencils and OMS to give Edith some life.  I decided to make her into an easel card.  I added lots of spiders and buttons as embellishments.  The spiderweb on the journaling spot is a rub on and I added the spider to it.  The sentiment is cut out of a piece of patterned paper from DCWV.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Now, just look on the right side of my blog to see whose next along this Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Hop.  Don't forget to search for the Scavenger Hunt image for today.  Email us at  smearedinkstamps@gmail.com with the answer.

31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop--Day 1

Hello there.  Welcome to Smeared and Smudged's 5th annual 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  I have decided to give it a whirl and blog the entire 31 days.  There are a few rules..not many... but let's get those out of the way first.

You can chose to be a "Horrifying Hopper".  Here are the rules for that group:
What You Have To Do:
Hop through each of the Wicked Blogs that are participating and leave a comment on each project. No need to sign up, just start on the first day and work your way through all the blogs. All Horrifying Hoppers will receive a Survival Button at the end of the month to proudly post on their blog.
The Rules:
You must leave a comment on EACH participating blog EVERY day in October to qualify for the grand prize drawing. Your comment should be about the project or something related (i.e.-no "Here's my comment for today" or "I'm here!"...these types of comments won't count!) If you miss a day or a blog, you will still qualify to receive a survival button, but will not qualify for the grand prize drawing.

You can also chose to be a "Sinister Lurker".  Those rules are:
                                                               What You Have To Do:
Some of you can't participate all month long, and that's okay! Only Wicked Bloggers and Horrifying Hoppers are up for the grand prize drawing, but if you can't do either of those you will still have the chance to win some Lurker prizes! We will be hiding scavenger hunt pictures randomly throughout the month on various participating blogs...if you find one on any given day, you will be put in for that day's freebie drawing. It may be a coupon, a free digi, or a Halloween goodie, who knows! We are working on some great sponsor prizes for the scavenger hunt this year, and it will be well worth your time to visit every once in a while.
The Rules:
Scavenger Items will be hidden randomly on the Wicked Blogs, and are not guaranteed to be available every day. You will have to visit blogs to find them. If you find one, you will email and let us know exactly where it was and your name will go into that scavenger item's drawing. Each person who finds the "hidden" picture will get one entry. The drawing for each scavenger prize will be the day after it was posted and winners will be chosen by random number based on who emailed. Wicked Bloggers are able to participate and find scavenger pictures as well, unless it is hidden on their own blog.

For a complete list of rules and to see what the grand prize is, please visit the Smeared and Smudged ning site  here.

So, now that all the housekeeping is out of the way, let's move on to the project that I created for Day 1.

This is a 5x7 altered canvas.  The little gargoyle in the left corner is a Queen Kat Design stamp.  I colored it with Spectrum Noir pens.  I added a hand and a spider that I found on clearance after Halloween a couple years ago.  The patterned papers are DCWV.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  You will find the entire blog hop list on the right sidebar of my blog.  Have fun hopping and don't forget to leave some love on every blog that you stop at.  Make sure that you look for the image that is hidden somewhere along the hop.  It's the Scavenger Hunt image.  When you find it, email us at smearedinkstamps@gmail.com to let us know that you found it.  Here's the clue for today's image;

Be wary if I cross your path,
If not your luck will feel my wrath.
Nine lives I live; you do the math.

MOOVELOUS Monday with Melonheadz Friends

Welcome to my blog.  I so appreciate y'all joining me today.

Our challenge at Melonheadz Friends is "Animals".  Nikki has tons and tons of sets with animals, but my favorite has to be "Barnyard Babies".  It's so dang cute.

I made a collage of sorts with three of the barnyard babies and the farmer girl and then printed it out onto white card stock.  I cut around the images and used a Black Sharpie to work around the edges. I didn't want any white edge to show on the image.  The sentiment is from the "Barnyard Babies" collection and I matted it onto a piece of Red Recollections card stock.  The patterned paper is American Crafts.  I chose five buttons and tied some jute cord into the holes and used glue dots to attach them.  The card base is Recollections Red.

I had fun with this challenge this week and I hope y'all will too.  Please feel free to enter a card into this week's challenge.  God bless y'all.

Marvelous Monday with Digi Darla

Thanks for joining me again for another challenge at Digi Darla.  I hope y'all had a great weekend.  The wedding was beautiful and the reception was great.  I wish my BIL John and my new SIL Kelly years of happiness together.

So, this week, our challenge is Anything Goes with Harvest Moon twist.  You don't have to include the twist, but it's a bit more of a challenge.  I used 2 Rowboats to make my card this week.

I used my colored pencils and OMS on this one.  I tried to make the moon shadow white, but it just didn't  work out so I  used some yellows and oranges. I know it looks more like a sunset, but it is a moon.  I matted the image onto Chocolate Brown card stock from Recollection and used a similar brown from Colorbok for the card base.  I rounded all the corners and used DI Vintage Photo to ink the image and sentiment, which if from a Gina K set.  The patterned papers are from DCWV Boyhood collection.  I added five blue liquid dots for some variety.  I didn't  want this too blingy so the liquid dots worked great.  I cut the end of the sentiment into a banner and attached it to the bottom.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope y'all will decided to enter a card into the Digi Darla challenge this week. God bless ya'll.

Congratulations John and Kelly

Hello there friends.  Today I have a card for y'all that I haven't been able to post until today.  I made this card for my BIL and his new bride, but I couldn't put it online until after the wedding because I have my blog posts linked with FB and they would have been able to see it.

I tried to come as close to the colors of the wedding as possible.  I used a BIC marker to color in the ribbons on the dress and the roses.  The exact colors of the wedding party are White and Sangria, but I didn't have a Sangria marker, but I did have a Berry colored one.

I used a sweet Precious Moments image that I found online to make this card.  I colored in the image with my BICs.  The sentiment is a Scripture from 1 Corinthians 13 which is called the "Love" Chapter.  I trimmed down both images and matted them onto a dark red cardstock.  The patterned papers are all DCWV and come from a wedding collection.  I added some dark red pearls for interest.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful.  My new SIL had the most beautiful dress.  She looked like an angel as she walked down the aisle.  My husband was the best man and the entire bridal party was dressed to the nines.

Here's a picture of the happy couple: Mr.and Mrs. John and Kelly Thubbron.

And this is my gorgeous husband, Tim.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a great rest of your day.  God bless!

Sweet Saturdays with Paper A La Mode

Hello my friends.  I hope y'all have been enjoying your weekend.  My Saturday was very full and busy, but more on that later.

This week at,  The Outlawz Paper A La Mode, our challenge is Carousels.  Your job is to create a card using an item from a carousel.  I love the carousel.  It's one of the only rides at an amusement park that I can still ride without getting extremely sick.  I always loved roller coasters as a young person, but they don't love me anymore.

Here's the card that I created:

I used a Beccy Muir image to create this card.  It is a Christmas Carousel Horse.  I colored it with my colored pencils and OMS.  The papers are MME and the card stock is Olive Green by Colorbok.  I also added a die cut mat in Gold and some sheer off white ribbon.

I hope that y'all will think about joining us for this great challenge.  Thank you so much for stopping by to view my latest card.

God bless y'all.
